Pre-Season Friendlies 23/24

Smith would start alongside Cook I'd assume so perhaps Osedebe or maybe Walker would drop out to accommodate him?

Both have apparently been very decent in pre season though so it wouldn't be a disappointment to see both line up at Crawley.

 

I'd be gobsmacked if that back three started a competitive game. Taylor and Stubbs especially can't play together considering one will have to play as a wide CB.

 

Well it seems like Stubbs and Kelly are two of the back three and it does seem from listening to Hughes that it will be a back three.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Gilliead at left wing back as Hughes trusts him even if it totally neuters our left hand side as he has zero end product.

 

Yes, I think Gilleads energy makes him just about the best candidate for that role but it also makes it the area we should be targeting to improve on.

A natural left footed, wing back would be great although I can only really see a loan option so it may well be a bit of an Achilles heel in terms of an attacking sense.

I'm not there mate, love a good conspiracy theory, Ryan gets our land lord to sleeve sponsor us allegedly to the tune of £150k a season now Stefan turns up yet again to watch a bloody pre season friendly which even I can't be arsed to go. Maybe he's not as quick as he used to be behind the wheel of his racing cars and his Mrs has told him to get safer hobby, what could be safer than watching Bradford City play a pre season friendly at the Crown Oil Stadium better know to us as Spotland .

It’s not just mistakes,against Hull it was pace plus any one ,two and it seemed the team was through on goal.

There's no pace at the back at all.

I worry for us a little bit this season tbh.

 

Don’t worry we lost 1-0 to Halifax in pre season just before we started our first Premier league campaign.

 

It depends.

I think Hughes wants pressing higher up the pitch and players trying to win the ball back quickly. That's led to the defenders being too ambitious and jumping in too quickly. I think this will soften a bit and we won't be so exposed as we get used to the playing style.
