Rightly or wrongly I do not accept mediocracy in any element of my life and sadly that sometimes makes me quite an unhappy person, especially as a Bradford City supporter.

That certainly doesn't make him a saviour in my book!
He now has a business coming out of Covid which is at least breaking even given how the salary cap has forced down players demands and we've increased ST prices. More worryingly is that Sparks has already referred to this year's playing budget having been reduced which suggests to me that Rupp is content for the club to tick over financially and we shouldn't expect Rupp to be using his own money to finance a promotion push in the near future.trevor, Manningham bantam, Rogered Tart and 2 others like this. -
Isn't the issue of the budget pretty simple. Rupp knows nothing about football or the football business. In the past he was told that if he put money in we would be promoted. He did and we weren't. Now he's been told we've got a manager who can get us promoted on a shoestring. So he's not putting any more money in. Have I missed something?

With the stuff that's being said in the T&A maybe rather than an October statement the club invite fans to a meeting then present the information to our faces and take questions from the fans.

He probably wishes he had come no where near with hindsight. There is no way he will ever recover his investment, just like many others who enter the madness of football club ownership.1975citygent, baggers, Faithful Bantam and 1 other person like this. -

You can't throw them in to a ten change side, for one game only, and say "they've had their opportunity". If that's the case, how can Adams justify persisting with certain "non performers" week after week?Dennis, Mike Hunt, Tolly856 and 1 other person like this. -
Maybe a perfect example of settling for or accepting mediocrity over the years!vladimir, WilsdenBantam, Rogered Tart and 1 other person like this. -

Whatever hit was taken, applied across the league. So its relative. With the exception of moneybags Salford, its still a level playing field so however we fare this season, is entirely in the context of where we compare to other clubs.
Enough excuses - we accept mediocrity far too willingly.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Petrov, Manningham bantam, vladimir and 1 other person like this. -
Yes, having raised the price of STs (something I agreed with) he then tried to justify it by implying it was the price of City gaining promotion this season. As you say, he could have played the new manager/squad rebuilding cards and most would have understood that. Instead, he adopted a different stance - promotion - and that is something he cannot control. And as we now know, with a reduced budget, he has made the delivery of promotion more difficult for himself and the manager.Mike Hunt, Ponty City, King Cole and 1 other person like this. -
No worries Mr Adams is famed for getting teams promoted with little or no budget
Biggest reason he was given the job in my opinion
Even he will struggle to get this lot top half never mind promotion
If the budget has gone does that mean no January signings
Sounds like it's going to be a long long seasonSkyebantam, vladimir and Dratsab taf like this. -
Or is it that theres nothing in the budget for now because we are saving whats left for January

I'd have thought a 33% increase in season ticket prices would have at least covered a shortfall in budget to have us going in with fighting chance.
Beggars belief that sparks spent all last summer complaining that it was impossible to run to a salary cap of £1.2m yet go in below that and more this year.
This is turning into a car crash month both on and off the field, some serious goodwill between the club and fans is being lost when the club have spent all summer supposedly rebuilding it.
It's an absolute mess, and will be interesting to see what Adam's October announcement brings.Idlebantam, vladimir and Johnny Yen like this. -

I think your number 3 point could be answered by arguing that we are run by inexperienced people i.e Rupp and Sparks, and whenever someone comes in who actually has a clue, Turnbull, we send him packing within months of appointing him. It's no such wonder the club is in disarray.Bantam Begins, Idlebantam and Bronco like this. -
Forget Oteh, he was an example of a player that was free, if we were serious he’d have been signed instead of Robinson.Bantamsteve, Dennis and Bronco like this. -

Most of it is very similar to what he said in his post-match Radio Leeds interview ... with one important omission. There is no reference whatsoever on the City website interview to Adams' "I've seen this club struggle this year, last year and the year before, I can see why" comment to Radio Leeds. The Adams' comment was so barbed and probably directed at senior people at the club and not the players that the club could do with providing its own version of what was meant by the club's manager. I'd like to hear Sparks put his own spin on that comment!Craven Koppite, trevor and Bronco like this.
