Rightly or wrongly I do not accept mediocracy in any element of my life and sadly that sometimes makes me quite an unhappy person, especially as a Bradford City supporter.

He almost certainly covered the loss the club made in 2018/19 created largely by his mate by making a short term loan to the club. Similarly, his loan was repaid (with some left over!) when the club made an even bigger profit the following year from the McBurnie deal.

That certainly doesn't make him a saviour in my book!

He now has a business coming out of Covid which is at least breaking even given how the salary cap has forced down players demands and we've increased ST prices. More worryingly is that Sparks has already referred to this year's playing budget having been reduced which suggests to me that Rupp is content for the club to tick over financially and we shouldn't expect Rupp to be using his own money to finance a promotion push in the near future.

Isn't the issue of the budget pretty simple. Rupp knows nothing about football or the football business. In the past he was told that if he put money in we would be promoted. He did and we weren't. Now he's been told we've got a manager who can get us promoted on a shoestring. So he's not putting any more money in. Have I missed something?

With the stuff that's being said in the T&A maybe rather than an October statement the club invite fans to a meeting then present the information to our faces and take questions from the fans.
What do you think Ryan ?.

I suspect there may well be others following your example next season if things at VP don't improve quickly!

Your highlighted is bang on, generally Twitter has a poor name with regards many things I'm told (I don't do twitter) so why not do his communicating through official channels.

I think he was conned by Edin , believing we were on the verge of the championship and if we got there he had doubled his investment. i understand he is a decent man from what i have been told. just diddly squat interest in football.
He probably wishes he had come no where near with hindsight. There is no way he will ever recover his investment, just like many others who enter the madness of football club ownership.

This will be controversial..... but he was only conned by Rahic on the basis of believing Rahic's own capability to deliver - not the plan itself. The fundamentals of the plan itself; to buy young players with high potential, re-sell, repeat (and forge links with premier league clubs to pick up their loans and cast offs) is 100% sound. That's the worry for me - he now thinks that such a plan is untenable, but it isn't. It just needs the right person leading it.

No he hasn't he's seen what they offer and in his opinion its not enough to get a start, when your the one who's job is on the line to get results you pick players you believe will deliver, Tuesday night did the kids no favours.

If Threlkeld hadn't been injured, Cousin-Dawson wouldn't have had that run in the side to show what he is capable of in a first team environment. He'd have been written off this season and bracketed with Sikora, Scales and Staunton as available for loan.

You can't throw them in to a ten change side, for one game only, and say "they've had their opportunity". If that's the case, how can Adams justify persisting with certain "non performers" week after week?

Let’s not forget these were kids who showed patches of promise but nothing more, and at a time when the team was failing in a grander scale than we are now.
Maybe a perfect example of settling for or accepting mediocrity over the years!

While some people wanted to take it as being aimed at Rupp because of their own feelings/agendas it seemed to me like a comment on the culture of the club and the way it operates.

Whatever hit was taken, applied across the league. So its relative. With the exception of moneybags Salford, its still a level playing field so however we fare this season, is entirely in the context of where we compare to other clubs.

Enough excuses - we accept mediocrity far too willingly.

Sparks was irresponsible imo and in being so, he has made a rod for his own back.

Yes, having raised the price of STs (something I agreed with) he then tried to justify it by implying it was the price of City gaining promotion this season. As you say, he could have played the new manager/squad rebuilding cards and most would have understood that. Instead, he adopted a different stance - promotion - and that is something he cannot control. And as we now know, with a reduced budget, he has made the delivery of promotion more difficult for himself and the manager.

No worries Mr Adams is famed for getting teams promoted with little or no budget
Biggest reason he was given the job in my opinion
Even he will struggle to get this lot top half never mind promotion
If the budget has gone does that mean no January signings
Sounds like it's going to be a long long season

I'd have thought a 33% increase in season ticket prices would have at least covered a shortfall in budget to have us going in with fighting chance.

Beggars belief that sparks spent all last summer complaining that it was impossible to run to a salary cap of £1.2m yet go in below that and more this year.

This is turning into a car crash month both on and off the field, some serious goodwill between the club and fans is being lost when the club have spent all summer supposedly rebuilding it.

It's an absolute mess, and will be interesting to see what Adam's October announcement brings.

Many like myself don't have Twitter so he should be communicating on official channels i.e the club's website, the T&A, etc rather than responding to someone's tweets when there's 13,000 season ticket holders and many more concerned fans at our recent slump.

I think your number 3 point could be answered by arguing that we are run by inexperienced people i.e Rupp and Sparks, and whenever someone comes in who actually has a clue, Turnbull, we send him packing within months of appointing him. It's no such wonder the club is in disarray.

My point was he, and other players, have been available for weeks. It’s over a month since Angol was injured and even before the we couldn’t take our chances. The situation is worse now and we still haven’t signed anybody.

Forget Oteh, he was an example of a player that was free, if we were serious he’d have been signed instead of Robinson.

There is an interview with Adams on the City website where he criticises the players.

    https://www.bradfordcityafc.com/news/2021/september/adams-slams-poor-bantams/

Most of it is very similar to what he said in his post-match Radio Leeds interview ... with one important omission. There is no reference whatsoever on the City website interview to Adams' "I've seen this club struggle this year, last year and the year before, I can see why" comment to Radio Leeds. The Adams' comment was so barbed and probably directed at senior people at the club and not the players that the club could do with providing its own version of what was meant by the club's manager. I'd like to hear Sparks put his own spin on that comment!
