To be a stable Championship club needs a rich owner pumping in millions every season.

Yeah, because we all know driving out owners works well doesn't it. To back that up, show me one club that was fully solvent and only under performing ON the pitch that has ousted an owner and moved on to success ?

You talk as if we are a basket case like Oldham. Get some perspective

£1m minus VAT, so £833k. Then costs come off it including travel etc.

after that EFL take 3%, then what is left EFL take half. Then it is split 4 ways.

so even if there was no costs involved we would only get £100k

The EFL are paying for the FA’s largesse.

only have to look at a club like Hednesford, I know it is a lower level. There owner took so much abuse from fans and calls for him to leave that he tried selling the club. Prospective owner has pulled out so the club has no gone. He decided it wasn’t worth the hassle and has missed the deadline for next season so if they do sort anything out they will have to start lower down the pyramid after a season out

Why are we crying about budgets? We are one of the wealthier clubs in League 2 with probably the biggest turnover.

Yes, Rupp doesn't want to plow untold fortunes into the playing budget, but why would he when A) he's had his fingers burned thanks to Rahic and B) the playing budget is already one of the biggest in League 2 - I bet we are top 4 for season 22/23.

I would understand the complaints if we had a budget that was mid table and below, but that's not the case. Our budget is strong and allows Hughes to compete for the best players. You don't get players like Smallwood, Chapman, Oliver and Walker for cheap and I doubt Halliday and Harry Lewis are on peanuts.

We have the nucleus of a very good team, one that has proven it is top 6. We are probably the most attractive club for decent players, so we should be confident of a good summer transfer window.

And remember, budget isn't everything. I bet Leyton Orient, Stevenage, Northampton and Carlisle all secured promotion on budgets lower than ours.

Look at the words…Meaningless drivel. Government put an extra £1 into the Education budget.

    See what I mean?

We weren’t top 4 in terms of playing budget LAST season, drop that fallacy straight away!

Exactly, be careful what you wish for. If/when there is genuine interest from a prospective buyer who has the means and desire to take us forward then great, bring it on but that isn't the case at the moment unless as I say, Fordy knows different.

At last. Someone who realises that it's the quality of recruitment and the style of play that gets you promoted rather than the amount you spend on recruitment. Well done fellah.

I own a five year old golf, free of finance, and have a tiny mortgage, but my sleep and quality of life are probably far better than a man with identical income and brand new a Q7 on HP and a £250k mortgage.

Yup but think again south of West York’s if you are talking big mortgages. Add half again and youngsters have zero chance
