Totally Warnock for me, he is under no financial, professional or personal pressure and has nothing to lose, his reputation is solid. We are in a right mess and others will flounder just like Bowyer.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned season ticket sales yet have they?
It was widely acknowledged among the fans that nobody was renewing for next season and that was potentially a big contributor to why Bowyer got fired.
If this is the case then the board will be asking two big questions and need to decide which takes priority:
1) who can take the squad we are left with, now the transfer window has closed, back into the playoffs
2) who will inspire the fans and get ST sales moving for next season.
We have three winnable games coming up, two of which are at home, starting this weekend, and they provide a terrific opportunity to get the show back on the road.
I do think the likes of N. Jones and Tisdale make long term appeal but I’m not convinced they tick the boxes the board may be looking at in the immediate term, as both play football and we have a squad set up to play direct football through Novak, Don and Guthrie.
Everything points to Warnock. He can work with target men like those in the squad and he is a big name appointment who will rally the troops. Some have questioned his desire but we present an opportunity to get another promotion on his CV.
He has said he wants a job until the summer. Thats rare. Teams usually want longer commitment but these are unusual circumstances. On our part, there is no long term commitment there - fire him a deal heavily weighted around a promotion/top 7 finish bonus to motivate him.
Some have mentioned him working with Stuart and asked whether Stuart would be prepared to be no. 2. Officially make them joint managers. Warnock gets games on his CV and Stuart’s pride isn’t hurt as stepping back as a no. 2.
You’d have Warnock’s experience to appease the Stuart doubters and the big McCall fans will cite his passion and feel he was harshly dismissed by Rahic. ST sales would be boosted under the duo.
The other appeal is Stuart knows the club. No need to hang onto Drury for a handover period - time we don’t have. Everyone knows all about Warnock and you wouldn’t need to discuss at length long terms plans as you would with a Jones or Tisdale.
If it goes wrong and we don’t go up then make a long term appointment in the summer, but hopefully the club will have rescued ST sales in the interim to give us a decent budget next year - we need good sales for Rhodes’ discount price model. -

I'm on the fence with stuart. On the one hand it is a lazy appointment, showing even more so that Rhodes hasn't a clue. But on the other, I wouldn't be annoyed at his arrival. His football last time out was a true pleasure to watch, win, lose or draw and I think these players would suit that style.
Maybe a short term appointment to get the feel good factor back is what we need.WilsdenBantam, Manningham bantam, Captain Grumpy and 3 others like this. -
At least you know warnock will bang a few heads together if needs be, there wont be any half hearted performances from a warnock team.

Whilst it is important we get a manager to restore morale through the club - to me a lot of success is dependant on the nos 2. Some successful managers as soon as they lose their assistant appear to lose the plot.

Sparks on twitter suggests they are looking to make a very quick appointment. It wouldn't surprise me if they have already made up their mind and we find out tomorrow.

Lazy, no. Safe, yes.
His record as manager is the highest win % in that last spell and he left under appalling circumstances.
If this was the summer, I'd be inclined to agree, we move on but for the here and now - to save our season he is exactly what we need. A feel good factor and somebody who knows and understands the club from the off...Gardscoigne, Allotment Bantam, Rogered Tart and 2 others like this. -
If he comes back and loses 6 on the bounce there will still be a lot of people having a pop at anyone who is critical and calling for him to come back a 4th time if he quits or is fired. That then leads to animosity when the guy after him starts as well .We can't ever move forward from him. -
