Probably one of the reasons is that a load of students live up Headingley way so not that far from Weetwood

the council has nothing to do with bus routes, first bus is a private enterprise.

the council decide which routes, or new routes, get subsidies which usually dictates the routes. If subsidies are removed the routes usually soon disappear too

    Naughty!

Leeds Railway Station is around a 35 minute walk from Elland Road. Probably best to either take a taxi or one of the shuttle buses, that run from near the station to the ground.

Street parking is a fair distance away. Given how many have an apoplectic fit, when paying for anything is mentioned (Season Ticket), then £130 plus on a parking slot over a season, could well be a factor.

The seating in the John Charles Stand is a mixture of old wooden and plastic seats. The leg room is sparse, plus there are a number of supporting pillars running along the front of the upper tier which could impede your view.

Elland Road is a poor stadium in today's world. I last went for a rugby league international and was less than or impressed with the arena itself. I have seen the plans for development but it will take a couple of hundred million to turn it into a stadium fit for 21st century European football.

I’ve said this in another thread but we need a viable alternative to staying at VP when the lease ends so we have leverage in any new rent negotiations or potential sale.
How much is VP realistically worth? 5million? 10million? What’s Gibbs tipping point?

Not this old Chesnutt again, to have a viable alternative we have to have an owner with vision going forward and although Stefan regards himself as our proud custodian I doubt very much he's looking at moving from Valley Parade, and Gordon Gibb will be well aware of it.
If and when we start to clime the football pyramid the rent becomes less and less relevant, although Ryan has commented with regards having talks with Gibb I can't see what he can do to help the club apart from buying Stefan out, Gibb has to honour the agreement struck with the Pension Fund and Bradford City why would he accept less rent and have to make up the difference up himself, IMO we ain't going nowhere and Gordon Gibb is well aware of it and basically has us over a
    barrel.

It’s worth knack all without a tenant. Scrap steel and low rent land.

fortunately for us, gibb owns city centre land in the one city that it's worth slightly less than f*ck all. virtually useless as anything but a football stadium so it isn't a huge barrel he has us over.

Unless we have new owners with the financial clout to build a new stadium in Bradford Gibb does have us over a barrel, where are we going Odsal, Valley Parade is the only venue available, there's no doubt the stadium is virtually worthless as anything other than a sports venue but there really is no alternative, unless you can give us one and the costings that go with a new stadium.

What would the area be worth if they flattened it and built houses?

Absolutely no idea on such matters but it seems people build houses on absolutely any bit of land these days!

Time will tell, I believe we will be playing football at Valley Parade for many more years on Gordon Gibbs/Flamingland Pension Funds terms.
