Big job, it’s was a money pit to maintain I bet?

 

The lack of funding year on year made it impossible to keep open. I know when my father worked for the baths department Ilkley lido took more money over the summer months than most pools in Bradford were taking all year.
Pooring that chlorine in on an evening, ruined many a shirt.

I think the problems with the Ricoh Arena right now should put to bed any ideas of sharing a ground.

 

Or should Coventry have requested to play their first few games away?
The Commonwealth Games have been known about for many years. It wasn't a surprise to them.

 

Not really relevant though as the state of the pitch hasn't really anything to do with the football or rugby teams. As neither have used it since May and Wasps first home game isn't until Sept 17.

It's a commonwealth games issue that Coventry City knew was coming up, but rather than request to play elsewhere or have the first month away from home only, they've done sod all and are now postponing matches left right and centre.

 

Sounds like broken promises were made to them.

 

Most teams to some degree down the lower levels 'share' a ground. Sometimes with other sports, sometimes with the same sport but other sides reserve sides. The days of a stadium being used once a week have long gone, the grounds can't pay for themselves just.being used by one team

 

That's the worrying thing.
