This is true to a point . I worked at the lido as a youngster, first summer after school as a pool attendant , on a hot day we would get over 1000 in . The pool systems were shot then . If it had been maintained it would be a money making asset , especially in these changing times climate wise. Park Avenue was the same, when the council took over after the football club went. They should have moved the Bulls in, think Headingley and with the south Asian community loving cricket, what a lost opportunity.

I know Huddersfield did but any others?

It isn't going to happen with the council constantly being who they are and having no interest in football. Added to that a move to Odsal would lose a large chunk of fanbase who come from predominantly the north west of the city, not the south east of the city.

I suppose those of us that do like a decent pint or "two" would probably beg to differ

Not as simple as it was in the 1950,s .
Baildon, Leeds , Bradford Exchange , Low Moor , or Baildon , Bradford FS , walk to Exchange and then Low Moor . That would put an awful lot of people off Roger?Gardscoigne and Offcomedun like this. -

Odsal held crowds in excess of 20,000 in the bulls heyday. The stadium is not a problem to get to.

Regardless of what used to happen in the Bulls/Wibsey heyday, where would several thousand City supporters be able to have a pre match drink within 10/15 minutes walk of the ground if we moved to Odsal?

Odsal is perched on the top of a ridge, around 700 foot above sea level, which is 150 foot higher than West Brom and 175 foot higher than Oldham.
It always strikes me as a bleak and forlorn place.
I would be concerned about the amount of parking. It is further from bus and train transport hubs,
Although there are several pubs, many of them sell a poor range of keg only drinks. Apparently only Top House, Hoopers (micro pub), Market tavern, and Chapel House serve any real ale, up to around half a mile from the ground.
The stadium is built on a former quarry/rubbish tip, you wonder about the cost of groundwork required to allow the construction of a modern stadium with all the infrastructure.
I can’t see it having a retractable roof, so anyone going will be exposed to the elements. When the Bulls were based there, they usually played from March to September, not a Tuesday night in November, December, January or February.
So unless an absolute fortune was spent on the venue, it is an absolute no from my perspective.Salty and Mason Handshake like this. -
I'm not sure what living in Baildon has to do with the situation Kevin, if you have no transport and are coming from work in Keighley and not finishing till 17:30, no doubt having no transport makes it difficult.
If we were to build a new stadium and the chosen venue was at Odsal, because Citys fans finds it hard to have a pre match drink that would be a major concern with regards where the new stadium was built, I'd think it would be because of limited space within the Bradford area.
I'm sure there are City fans who don't have transport and attend midweek games coming directly from their place of work, that's a call they have to make, beer or no beer before the game.
But my reply was with regards limited drinking establishments in and around Odsal.1975citygent and bailiff bridge bantam like this. -
