I'm surprised. If you go onto our forum and ask what he's like I'd take a guess that 95% would say similar to me.

 

On #71 where I replied, the post says nothing about injuries? But if you go back and look at the original it says different to what I originally quoted.

Fair enough. Looking closely, it appears he posted at 08:41 and the post was edited between 08:43 (your reply) and 08:45 (Dave’s reply). So by the time you had responded to him again, he had already tried to quantify his reasoning.

That's fair enough, maybe it was just a one off at Sunderland? Either way there's no way Bowyer would sign him if he had an attitude problem, as he's doing his due diligence on all signings and knows we had too many who lacked effort last year.

Possibly. Just posting what I know of him. His record at Bury might shine through again at L2 level.

I was thinking that when I read @Lost Mackem post. Bowyer is a shrewd manager and will have asked managers and whoever about his attitude and general work rate. We haven’t signed him yet, so maybe further ongoing enquires.

Interesting he was calling it nonsense the other day, saying no way we’d get a player who was on 15k a week last season. While the cows arse said different, big U turn!

 

Read @BoingBoing post, you edited the post after I'd quoted it, at the time it had nothing to do with injuries which is why it made no sense at all. I'm not going to dig it all up, but go read it.

 

I couldn't comment on his performances for Wigan, Bury or Portsmouth really, but he was poor every time I saw him for Portsmouth. I think I watched him 4 times. 3 times he came off the bench vs us and did actually show a lot of effort (I presumed that is because it was against us, his ex club) and once against Bury in the Checkatrade Semi, which he was invisible in. He was poor each time though.

All the things I said in my OP are facts though and were his actions while contracted to us/after being contracted to us. He had absolutely no respect for our fans or our club.

While typing I recall him warming up for Pompey vs SAFC at the SOL and doing shooting drills in front of the home end. They were doing one touch shooting (from about 20 yards out) with no goalkeeper. Once fans started realising that every shot he was taking he was missing he started getting goaded. I'm not sure whether it was the pressure of having 'all eyes on him' in a warm up but he only scored 2 of maybe 20+ shots (much to the amusement of our fans).

Think about it though, he isn't going to get a club willing to pay him anywhere near 15k. He'll be looking at a maximum of 5k if he wants to stay in England and will only have offers from league 1 and 2. Then factor in location and playing time and maybe we're the best fit.
