    Maybe we should go in with a cheeky loan bid until Christmas, could be good for ST sales and if it doesn't work out we're not too committed financially.

    I agree I can't see him returning (and don't particularly want him back) he made it very clear before he left he'd enjoyed his football at Valley Parade and it was not about money, as you say it was the fact he was living apart from his loved ones, welcome to the life of a professtional footballer Mark.

    Marshall moved down to Charlton to be closer to family. I don't see him moving back up here as it completely defeats the object! There are tonnes of clubs down that way he could go too.

    I don't see this signing been a season ticket boost either. 31 year old who had one very poor season and one good season with us. Let's be honest, he didn't set the world alight in that second season!!! It would take a lot more than Marshall to entice those on the fence, you would need a Nahki Wells or Reece Burke + Josh Cullen returning for that.

    I agree. I suspect he will have plenty of choices, that will let him stay in the area, even if it means dropping a division or two.

    Is it the 2016/17 season you are referring to ?.

    Are you talking about Marshall? If so then you are completely wrong. You are right about his first season, his first season was a failure as Parkinson preferred the on loan Reid. His second season turned out to be a player of the year award winner in a season where we reached the play off final. Lets not try and knock his performances down that season, he was fantastic for us.

    He scored 5 goals and got 6 assists - hardly pulling up trees. Player of the year yes, was good, but didn't set the world alight did he. Why is he still playing L1 football?

    That's what this message board is all about differences of opinions, I personally thought he was one of our better players game on game, as @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart says accumulating in him winning most of the end of season awards.

    Just checked Sky and 6 goals and 7 assists for Markie, also Marshall was reported to have made 261 crosses and 285 completed dribbles in League One in 2016–17, ahead of any other player in the division. The assists were 2 more than any other City player. Ask his agent why he's still in League One. You're being a bit harsh.

    Well, as he was easily our player of the season, that says a lot about your thinking about the rest of the team that got us to Wembley and should have won.

    I’m not sure i’ve ever seen a Bradford City player have an ‘out of this world’ season but he was a worthy winner of the best player of the season award. Best wide play i’d seen since the Beagrie days. He might not reach those heights again, there are a lot of players who have one off seasons. But for that season him and Cullen were different gravy.
