Yes bronco that’s why I brought it up…they are still on the city ticketing website and I bought mine in person at the ticket office.

That's a nonsense, you get points for home friendlies but nothing for away friendlies even though you bought the tickets from Bradford City, so somewhere between the people who make the call and the ticket office the communication has broken down as I said "maybe they make it up as they go along".

    Good Morning Mick,

Having bought tickets for the Bury friendly from the Bury ticketing office if we show proof of purchase do we get 20 loyalty points to add to our total.

    Regards

    Dave

    Hi Dave

The loyalty points are applied to tickets only bought from us, so no one will be allocated points for this game

    Kind regards

It's a bit of a shambles if loyalty points are awarded on a pick'n'mix basis. Surely any game attended should be awarded loyalty points, or just have a blanket ban on all friendlies. Isn't really a fair system if someone who pops down to VP to watch a home match gets more points than someone making a trip across the pennines and back to Rochdale.

The points allocated for friendly matches should have been made fair and clear before a ball was kicked in pre-season, whether that's x points per home/away game, or no points for non-competitive games period.

I suspect the logic is that we rarely have any control over away friendlies, most of which, in the past, have been pay on the gate. Therefore, as we can't control sales for these matches (with very few exceptions), it is logical not to issue 'City Points' for away friendlies.

Home friendlies and all league and cup* matches are within the control of the Club as, under the regulations, we can sell the away tickets for such matches and, therefore, we can easily allocate 'City Points' for all such matches.

*It is possible that the odd match in the silly trophy competition could be pay on the gate, although with modern ticket gates, there won't be many clubs where you can still pay 'cash' on the gate.

I find it hard to fathom why people think tickets sold by Bury FC should/ would be eligible for loyalty points.

Why would Bury FC waste time & money reporting back to Bradford City, the names of people who bought tickets and why would Bradford City do the same matching those up to members who bought for a poxy pre-season friendly.

I find it even harder to fathom why anyone would think the club are in any way to blame for not doing this.

    Definitely.

An element of our support will take up points opportunities wherever possible.

For example I personally know a couple of people who only went to the women's game because points were on offer. Same story for the EFL trophy games.

Suppose that shows the scheme is working as part of it was to drive sales for the club for unpopular games

    I agree.

However, i've come to realise over the course of the past season or so that some of our supporters take these points incredibly seriously. I could understand a bit more if they actually meant anything but beyond guaranteeing tickets for games at Salford, Harrogate and Barrow they don't really mean a whole lot.

It's all a bit juvenile to me, smacks of "I've got more Pokemon cards than you" or having more stickers in your Premier League sticker album than your classmate.

I believe it was posted on here if you attended the game and showed proof to our ticket office they would credit you with loyalty points.
I posted originally I wanted to attend because as a football fan I know what that would mean finacially to Bury and in a similar situationI would hope Bury fans would do the same.

Isn't that the whole idea of accrewing loyalty points, if you want to add to other ways of increasing your loyalty points and chances of getting to away games that have limited accomadation for away fans this is a good way of getting loyalty points, same as purchasing a club membership, 100 points added to you account.

Is that only juvenile because youre not bothered if you attend an certain away game of not.
Nothing juvenile about taking the only option the club offer for those who attend away games to get a fair crack when away accomadation is limited.

    Really?

The only supporters i've seen "moaning" about the points system, are those who demand a fair system to suit the majority. And yes, this is basically those fans that attend most away matches - of which I am firmly in the camp. That is why we get pissed off with the club suggesting bonus points for buying a water bottle or attending a womens game, or a £100 con card. oops sorry, I meant membership

It was only £35 last season mate, but not seen anything with regards renewing for the coming season, I didn't attend anywhere near the away games you and others did, but I can honestly say apart from the Salford game where I didn't have enough points (which I did manage to attended and stand with fellow City fans) I was quite happy with the away games I attended, I think it will be very similar this season.

how does this not suit the majority? the majority of fans attend home and away games?

has anyone who has gone to most away games been denied the ability to go to said away game?

as someone who goes to every away league game gets 460 points.

so surely the point stands who attends the most games can attend the most games?

why should people who only go to the away games be entitled to go to those games? not sure why people still moan about it its far better than selling 1000 away priority passes and then doing a raffle for salford away...

Now there’s an idea. Hold a raffle, 10 quid a ticket and if your number comes up, you have the right to buy a ticket at face value! Get on it Ryan, could get loads of extra brass in.

I have bought two tickets through City for the Rochdale game tomorrow. I can’t see that any points have been added to my account.

I am not bothered if I don’t get Loyalty Points, as long as it is absolutely the same for everyone.

Last season I didn’t get ‘Loyalty Points’ for 3 home matches I had been to, that is what grates.

Why would bury have to waste time and money? I don't understand the point?

When I bought tickets I was issued with QR codes (all linked to season tickets) to enter the ground so all I'd have to do is use them to provide proof of purchase to the City ticket office and points could be awarded.

I'm really not bothered either way but it honestly doesn't seem like an overly complicated system?
