It does, but can you honestly say Turnbull was the man you wanted to be in charge of continuity planning? Would you have been happy with us picking up Scunthorpe's cast offs for the next ten years?
Having a recruitment manager is all well and good when they are someone highly regarded in the game and with excellent connections. I'm not sure Turnbull was either of those things.

Agreed - Barely a single mention of Turnbull when the signings were being made as people were seemingly happy with them. Now we’ve had a blip and he’s moved on it seems he’s getting the finger pointed at him.

Also keen to know why people think Sparks won’t be here long term? Where do people think he’s going. He’s got it easy here. The only really mistake he’s made was giving Stuart a contract extension which he quickly rectified. He’s still a very young man for the position he is in and while I think he talks far too much about nonsense I don’t think he’s doing a bad job.

And giving Mark Trueman & Conor Sellars extended contracts, I have been very supportive of Ryan I think the way he's gone about his new role at Valley Parade has been a breath of fresh air, taking every chance he got to tell us fans what was going on behind the scenes etc but its gone rather quite recently wouldn't you say ?.
So gave Stuart an extension paid him off, gave Trueman & Cellars extentions paid them off, employed Trunbull didn't work paid him off.

Tbf I think his hands were tied slightly with Trueman and Sellars as they did go on a fantastic run where we were heading for relegation to possibly the playoffs and he did move them on which was the right decision at the time.
He has been quiet since the season began but I don’t think there is much for him to say? The season has started and now it’s down to Adams and the players to do the talking. We are still announcing partnerships and the communication coming from the clubs social media is still very good. I don’t think Ryan needs to say much more. Like I said I think he talks too much sometimes so if he keeps quiet it can’t come back and bite him on the backside. Let’s not forget that most clubs hear from their owners. It’s literally like Rupp doesn’t exist. Ryan takes a lot of flack and responsibility when sometimes it should be down to the owner.

Sparks is doing a good job in the circumstances, what with having to raise any revenue he wants to spend. He's made decisions that in hindsight he might have done differently but as we all know hindsight is a wonderful thing. The only thing I have a different view on is the length of time Sparks will be here. The lad is young and ambitious and just like with James Mason, there will be offers of better paid and more high profile work down the line. I wouldn't expect gum to be here more than 3 years, using Bradford as a stepping stone on his CV and I don't blame him if he does.

Im not sure most owners say too much the odd exception being the lad at Posh but its very rare to the hear from the likes on Man Untd, Man City, Liverpool Chelsea owners, but your correct Rupp having appointed Ryan seems to have take even less interest in the club although we're told they have contact via the phone/video calls, even the excuse of not being able to fly over because of Covid can't be used, oh for the days of Stafford or Big Geoff who sold the dream at every opertunity.

Those conversations take place up and down the country on deadline day, by CEO's, Managers and agents. The one Ryan spoke to happens to have a podcast. You make it sound like we were the only ones in this position.

Maybe, Maybe not, But the Chief exec having to ring round is not I suggest normal when he employs someone as a player recruitment specialist who is supposed to have his finger on the pulse of player availability

On the face of it yes it does, but until the new structure is announced we don't know if it's for the better. Ryan is correct in wanting stability but hasn't the experience to go about it. Adams has been to a few clubs now and will have picked up what works and what doesn't. Maybe this is his first opportunity to implement the good things he's learnt because he has a CEO willing to listen.

Turnbull got us out of sticky situation but it looks like he couldn't push us on, let's hope the new structure enables us to do that. Rather than go down a path that's failing, I'm glad he's addressed the situation quickly before the next window comes around.

Sparks has a relationship with DMAC, why wouldn't he ask him. He's probably asked his advice on other matters too.

Humour me for a minute. If you were having an extension built on your house and the builder overseeing the works couldn't get the plasterer he wanted, and was struggling to get one in, but you knew one. Wouldn't you ring them to see if they would help you out or would you leave it to the builder to carry on struggling?

By that analogy the builder should have already had an alternative plasterer to be able to turn to and shouldn't be leaving it till the last minute to try and source another.

Interesting list and you have to wonder what the reaction of some supporters would have been if we had signed them in the summer. Before this season, in the EFL:

Armstrong - 4 goals in 41 league appearances.
Smith - 19 goals in 97 league appearances.
Proctor - 48 goals in 296 league appearances.
Burey - 0 goals in 14 league appearances.
Sears - 68 goals in 394 league appearances.
Zanzala - 16 goals in 86 league appearances.

Worth noting that Armstrong and Smith were signed on fees. Still very early in the season to suggest that the above list will have good seasons, but it shows that teams at this level have to take chances on strikers with patchy records and hope that it clicks.
