January transfer window

, I would like to see kelleher moved on asap and another backup centre half come in if he doesnt fancy staunton. we're too vulnerable to a ball over the top at the moment. an out of this world (for L2) forward would be great too but that doesn't look forthcoming at all. beyond that it's sort of hard to say what needs to be done and my enthusiasm for even caring anymore is running out

 

First priority : A striker who can finish
Yes; quality strikers are hard to come by in any league. Having no funds makes that task harder.

But in a league like this, there’s always a chance of finding strikers who don't do too well at certain clubs due to tactics an formations an etc but find better luck at other clubs an thus ain't rated too highly. Im sure we’l get someone through the doors to help us bridge the gap.

We need a right back. Therkeld aint cut up for it an I dont think Adams trusts FCD just yet.

Another winger wouldn’t go a miss. In an ideal world, Id like to see someone come in to provide competition for the Midfield places.

But don't you think the striker who can finish thing is a bit overstated?

There are only 3 strikers in the division that have scored more than Cook, and it's not like when we've had 15 shots and scored once that they've all fallen to the striker.

I'd be much more inclined to bring in a goalscoring winger/attacking midfielder than yet another centre forward. I think it's just too easy to think we're not scoring therefore new striker, we share chances around the side very well indeed it's just that only ONE of our players can score. That's the man you want to replace/competition for.

 

Agree none of our 4 strikers Cook, Angol, Levery or Robinson have had time to play together Angol & Cook looked a very good pairing until Angols injury, obviously if Adams believes we need another striker I wouldn't be too disappointed but I do believe he'll be looking at other areas to strengthen in the squad, and I would not be surprised if a loan or two were brought in.

 

Yup, been adapting to full time for the first time and not a bad start. But agree unusual to have no draws, now bound to happen tomorrow!

Was thinking today, Danny Rose used to play with Cook at Mansfield and couldn't make Northampton's starting XI. Wonder if we might be interested again there.

Well the record keeps going, still no draws! To be honest Woking 2nd half could easily have got a point as think Stockport midweek efforts caught up with them.

Couple of points, like Challinor as a manager (looks like Hartlepool are missing him), Quigley is a handful and a bit of a nasty ba......d, and Palmer at CB is one of the best on the ball I have seen at this level (and very possibly an upgrade on what we have at City) - sorry that's 3 points

That is a good really shout, having him up top with Cook or Angol would be a tasty combo.

oddly enough i cant see his length of contract anywhere (even the club statement doesn't say!!) so i wonder if its a rolling or short term contract. In which case we would hold the cards.

From what i've seen of him i'd put him in the Robbie Blake mould, worth a punt..

 

It's possible Waters has found his level and wouldn't score at L2 level under greater pressure but it's also possible he has found his form and could bring it with him if he was cheap I'd give him a go why not

Problem is we have loads of forwards someone would have to leave

 

Still will not resolve the issue the lack of goals from midfield.
