So are we not allowed to discuss it if we don't know a name of a potential owner? Would kinda defeat the idea of the forum.

You are ALL missing the point.

My first post started ( Caps for emphasis)

“I GET YOUR POINT, BUT I’M PLAYING DEVILS ADVOCATE HERE.”

It seems a few don’t know the meaning ?

What are we discussing Roger, me playing devils advocate. My first comments plainly states I was.

I said I AGREED with the sentiment, for new ownership, but I won’t waste my or anyone else’s time calling for something I , nor anyone else on this forum has any influence over, other than voting with our feet. As someone pointed earlier………..then what?

That’s the juxtaposition we all face, if Rupp decides any money’s offered is insufficient.

Why should he care, he’s got no affiliation with the club. You make me put my hand in my pocket?
You can’t, and we can’t make him. It’s that simple.

You honestly believe starving the club of money would help. He will just right it off as a business loss on his tax return!

I disagree. His investment is worth nothing in the National League.
Starve the club of money and he has to put money in to have a competitive budget or risk National League football.

There will become a point where the club is costing the owner too much money and the easiest thing to do is sell.

That’s fair enough Kevin nothing wrong with doing that, suppose on a forum where debate can be rife and get heated that may get lost on some but I understand you’re trying to get others to see both sides. Personally though I think Rupp is passed the point of no return, unless a manager can save his skin and get us top end league 1 I don’t believe that will happen while Rupp is still at the club but happy to be proven wrong.

As for my post I’ve given alternatives as you asked that I think would be an improvement on Rupp.

That's a fair point but others seem to want to discuss it. As has been mentioned if Rupp has no interest other than Ryan telling him he doesn't have to fund us then the only course of action is to boycott the club. Problem with that is the short term pain for long term gain.

His investment isn’t worth anything now and we have a competitive budget (5th) but that’s because we are in and around clubs such as Harrogate, Sutton and Barrow. It isn’t difficult to generate bigger budgets than them.

He was duped into buying Bradford and isn’t going to want to make a loss on his investment. He is getting off completely scot free while Ryan who is still learning has been thrown completely under the bus. Ryan needs help by someone who knows what the football role of CEO job entails. He is obviously trying his very best but let’s face it this whole shit show is on Rupp. He probably has no clue on what’s going on. As long as we are mostly sustainable which Ryan is working on and he isn’t having to fork out on players (5 loans this Jan) then he can sit pretty in Germany and ignore the fact we are crap.

Sustainability : the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level, we generate our own income with little if any input from the owner into his business.

Deficit : an excess of expenditure or liabilities over income or assets in a given period, the owner puts finance into his club explaining if the deficit is not recovered (in our case by a cup run) it will be recovered by selling an ass an asset.

I know which one I prefer as a Bradford City fan.

Hi FB. I'm not taking any sides in this argument but I am genuinely interested to know who the parties are that have made offers.

    Case in point

Colchester in my neck of the woods . The club owes the “ owner” £32 million and counting.
The club in its current form is only “sustainable” providing the owner keeps breathing, perhaps?

Before this thread closes, something that bemuses me. Folk going on about us not signing a proven goalscorer. Now correct me if I'm wrong but clubs don't let proven goalscorers go for free in January. You can buy them due to demand for such a commodity being very high in the transfer window but as a rule no one gives them away. But as a club our remit from Rupp is to make sure he doesn't have to put any money in so how people thought we were going to come up with this magical goalscorer is beyond me.

The mistake was not buying quality in the summer. Robinson & Lavery were a shambles. Elliott and Delfouneso are more non scoring forwards.

Why didn't we just get a couple of quality forwards in the summer?

Yes one allowed us to get some quality in at least even if assets such as Wells had to be sold, I’d rather sell a quality player than have never had one in the first place. Wells’ goals for us to league 1, if we’d have got a striker, got promoted and then sold him fair enough. That won’t happen under a sustainable model, it just doesn’t work. You need to speculate to accumulate in the first place.

Yes. Their recruitment decisions are based on xG. Don’t tell the dinosaurs on here though, they think xG is a myth.

I don’t think sustainability per se is a problem. Its sustainability, led by an owner and CEO who have very little experience in running a football club and failing to give us some direction and providing support to the manager when needed, thats the problem.

we can’t keep on having Adams calling out those above him, it sends out a message that the club is fractured.

It is fractured. Adams is right in his criticisms of the club. And the fans are right in their criticism of him. It's hard to see a way forward to get us out of this mess.
