If only it was Delph (bring him home!) and not Delf we'd signed. A player in that mould is what we're crying out for. Will be very interesting to see how Longstaff performs for Mansfield. That's the crux of the issue for me, there's too much chopping and changing of direction every few months. Since dropping to L2 there's not been any consistency to the types of manager we've gone for, the style of play, the approach to youth, player fitness, player recruitment (loans vs longer term contracts), scouting etc. The footballing side of the club is completely directionless and whatever Adams might say, he is rapidly running out of time to show that he's the man to deliver positive change.

Not necessarily. Hendrie can play CH and it'd give a great opportunity for Reece Staunton.

 

I'd love to see Staunton get a chance but not if it means Adams will haul him off at half time and blame him.

I have a novel idea whereby our defenders play in the primary, specialist positions. Radical, I know. Not sure we've done it since 2017.

 

For some reason in the back of my mind I thought young Fould's had played CB, but nothing in his career history suggests that.

 

And all the hamstrings! I can't think of another club who has lost so many of their players to hammy injuries this season. It's not coincidence and there has to be a serious reason why. Ergo, slightly shot signings allied to poor conditioning and fitness programming. We just can't be getting this work right.
