Easy, You come up with a financial settlement package that at least cuts some of their wages off the budget and tear up their contract. Just like Turnbull did with BRE, Tyler French, Jackson Longridge & DMH. It might be throwing good money after bad, but at least it saves something and gets players out who might be poisoning the dressing room because they aren't involved.

If you were Evans would you be all sweetness and light despite not having even been on the bench for months ? I bet he's using every opportunity he can to bad mouth Adams behind his back. Adams had three strikers on the bench on Saturday yet we all know he would only ever put one on.

Evans might not be very good, and might not be able to change a game, but he should at least be on the bench as he is good enough to cover a number of positions if required.

 

We have to endure another 6 games…… when is Oldham away. Ha ha

 

Anyone know why Hendrie & Delfounso can't play today ? is it timing of the signings or are they like most players we sign - already injured ?

If not before. Some say Adams was tracking Nathan last season while still at Morecambe. Some claim we wanted him during Adams' Ross County days. I personally believe we've been tracking him since he was in nappies.

Despite what some on here are saying Delfouneso is a decent signing he has played most of his career higher up and can only strengthen us. Not sure about Hendrie I wasn’t a big fan when he was here before. As for the sale of Canavan I think it is a stupid decision without a replacement

 

Fair is this. But I'm puzzled by the signing of ND.. With a fit Cook, I'm struggling to see how he gets significant game time.

 

Non League clubs can still sign players so I expect them to move so that they "get some game time".

 

I might be dreaming but I think he's basically a winger/forward, so he probably will get game time in an Angol-type role.

It's not the worst signing although it would be nice if he'd scored even a single league goal this season.

 

To be fair to Delfouneso, he's only played 233 minutes of league football this season. All from the wing, so not exactly been given the best chances to even get a goal.

Only played 753 minutes all season in all competitions, not one minute of it as a striker but got two goals in the PJT. Doesnt look like he's played as a striker in nearly two years. As you say, will probably fill that Angol left sided foward position. Imagine we will never see Pereira now.

 

Our problems have been forwards finding the back of the net apart from Cook who suffers with injuries - Given Delfounesos goal scoring record I will wait with baited breath to see how he improves this problem City have.
As for a team that has been unable to keep conceding - preventable goals - it does not appear to be a priority for Adams given his transfer activity.

 

Hendrie has a fractured first touch, and Delfounso has a dislocated level of ability.

 

Bit harsh that on Delf, one thing I can absolutely assure you of Faithful is his ability. Evatt has a very specific way he wants players to play and whilst he was a big part of our promotion last season, the changes Evatt has made to the squad this year has left him sidelined. That doesn’t take anything away from his ability, he’s got plenty of that but maybe not as an out and out striker. He’ll probably play left side although he can equally well play down the right but either way he will create chances. He still has pace and I doubt there’s anybody at VP with his skill, so played right he will be a good signing. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, you’re far too big a club to be where you are.

 

I have a sneaky feeling that Delfounso could also be "The Stig"

 

We have both Songo and Staunton, I'd suggest Canavan's departure was in response to Adams comments last Saturday, but in all honesty since his return from injury then suspension he's hardly been a leader, more a disaster waiting to happen Sutton and Salford two examples, getting a fee is good business.
During Hendrie's spell under McCall he didn't lets us down and as Stuart argued at the time he could be used in several positions, did we expect this transfer window to bring in better than we have, especially as Adams had said January was the best for loans.

I don't really get the uproar on here really, we were never getting much this window as the squad requires too much work for this season. As for Canavan I don't think he's a huge loss and maybe he'd become a bad egg in the dressing room who knows? And Songo playing there isn't a disaster. As for Delf I'd say he's definitely an upgrade in the striker department, with Hendre he's not great by any stretch but surely will be better than Threlkeld defensively at rb. Don't get me wrong I'm not making it a good window far from it but I'm just glad we haven't give anyone a deal beyond end of season.

 

Appreciate the amicable sentiment - though there's not a single element of how the club is run these days, that would hold testimony to the 'big club' comment.

To understand the reaction to this signing, you'd need to understand the broader context of why our fans feel the way they do, and the way in which our player recruitment has played out for this, and all other recent windows. I hope Delfounso succeeds, I really do. But he's been brought into an area of the squad where we're top heavy on numbers but lacking in obvious quality. In this window alone, we've recruited 3 players on loan who sort of play in those 'off the forward' areas, and its the area of the team that was probably the lowest priority for us going into the window. I won't bore you with the details, but we're a shit show in everything we do these days and with out a change in owner and direction, the only way we're escaping this league is through the trap door.

 

The fan view is much broader and much more deep seated than being about this window,

The essence of what you've said above is 'yeah, we've signed shite but at least we're only lumbered till the end of the season'.
