Well all I can say Ryan is thank goodness we are not tolerating mediocrity anymore!
I pray tonight goes well for the few fans who still look like attending and to be honest for the players as it could be a not unexpectedly difficult atmosphere - but they also need to show some resolve (Yann, you can't just keep talking about it)

But most of all Adams needs to get his finger out and show us why he is the man for the job, the clock is ticking and after this latest window has not convinced many he and his scouting team are the answer

    Spot on.

If someone said to me last week, we would let Canavan go and get an actual fee, I would have bitten their hand off!

Good business, hes gone truely backwards since the season start……..Slow!

have a word ffs this team should be higher up the league the reason it ain’t is down to Adams we have now brought in not one or two non scoring strikers we have FOUR that’s right FOUR now not being silly but surely them FOUR non scoring strikers will be on enough money to bring at least 1or 2 strikers that do score goals ............. is that down to Rupp that this manager and his superb network of scouts have brought us this ???
Like I said in previous posts Rupp ain’t got it right far from it but to blame this seasons mess on him is laughable ............... Adams had a budget he was happy with, we brought in a set of HIS Scouts and this is where we stand .......

This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to hear. A player can't have played as made games for good clubs like Delfouneso has if he doesn't have ability. Yes we need someone to add goals but we also need someone who can support the goalscorer(s) in the team. Walsall was was a prime example of how Andy Cook needs someone like a Lee Angol or a Delfouneso in support.

Overall, taking the Canavan surprise out of the equation, the January business has been pretty steady. Its covered areas where we needed improvement like in goal, right back, attacking mid and up front. I can't say I'm a fan of the number of loans, but as WOAP have covered in their review, we saw huge improvement in the 15/16 season thanks to the impact of January loans like Cullen, Proctor & Wes Thomas so it can work.

Good business, let’s be fair he’s been a disaster waiting to happen all season. Good c/half’s make up for a lack of pace by excellent positioning, aka reading the game. Roy McFarland was a case in point perhaps from the top of my head. His positioning, remember the back line FOLLOWS himself up / down the pitch, has been dire. Long ball over the top……there you go! How many times?

We're a football club, though, not a bank balance.

I don't give a stuff about 'good business' from a financial aspect, it's all about the team, which is weaker now.

He was sold for p/ nuts. Anyone paying a fee for him is dafter than us?

We have had a few over the years

Billy to Charlton for a fee
    Canavan for a fee
The lad the who left recently whose name I forget to the National league. That’s the impression he left me…don’t even recall his name .

I ain’t trying to cause an argument but we need to bring a forward who can score goals .......... Cook and another fair enough I’m having that but what if Cook gets injured ???? We ain’t got one player to fill that gap :( soon as Angol went off at Rochdale the priority should have been to get a goalscorer in now our season is in the hands of a forward who could at any point be out for weeks :(

Why should we be further up the league?

I've never felt we would be better than midtable at any point, including pre-season.

We've signed our players almost exclusively from other League Two sides or U23 squads. The exceptions have been Vernam (Burton) and Cooke (Peterborough), with Kelleher and Foulds thrown in from random clubs.

We haven't even gone out and signed the BEST players from other League Two clubs, we've signed ones that other clubs don't want - with the possible exception of Songo'o.

Where do you get the idea we should be doing anything better than we are from? Genuine question?

The thing that is very annoying is with any business you generally have to invest to reap a return and with SRs supposedly wealth it would only take a tiny percentage of that to kick us on out of this league, and with some of the clubs that are currently in L1 the returns would be huge.

The lack of goals was obvious from the start. Even if Cook gets you 20, the other 3 behind him need to get 10 each.
That was never going to happen with Vernam, Cooke & Gilliead in those positions.

Gilliead looks a stranger signing with every passing week. If defend deep and hit teams on the break are the tactics, then a right winger with no pace whatsoever isn't going to work.

Not only that, but the defence looked lopsided and weak.

I was begging the club to sign another right back before a ball was even kicked, but people kept saying it would be fine.

    LOL.

From the patches in games that I have seen there is the bases of a team in there ........... now imagine your not a City supporter on Saturday ............. at ht there was only one team gonna win that game if things carried on .......... but what did the manager do ???? Started sitting us deeper which as you know cost us 3 points so how many times has his negativity cost us ???? The amount of draws we have had because he ain’t got the bottle to have a go ...............Scunthorpe, Rochdale and the Carlisle games should have brought us in 9 points now I bet player for player we are better than them but what happens a paltry 2 points against teams lower than us ............. one of them nailed on to be a non league club .......... we have seen what we can do against the so called better team the likes of FGR and Sutton got away with it up here, Swindon got beat by us all teams above us so if we can perform so well against that lot then why do we do what we do against the other teams we should be beating ???

Fair comments Lancs, like you I had little expectations for this window which probably makes some of my comments last night some what irrational. That said football is an emotive sport which can make all us fans a bit irrational at times. As you say this business yesterday in isolation isn’t really an issue, but not getting another CB in is. One thing I stand by is Rupp out! I’ll back the players tonight though regardless of what I think of their ability.

To be honest with you, if I'm an opposition fan I'm looking at our team and I'm thinking it's nowt special.

I would probably know Andy Cook is a danger, but beyond that...? I've probably not heard of many of our lads, except (ironically) Canavan.

If I watched the Crawley game totally impartially, I'd see a side that is capable of playing neat football against a struggling side, but that clearly wasn't good enough over 90 minutes.

And isn't that the story of the season? We haven't got a good 90 minutes in us, and we can't defend a lead.

Blame who you like, but to imply these players are better than that is a bit naive. They're just not very good.
