We need to play hardball with Norwich for Elliot Watt. Tell them the price is at least 4 dozen hand dryers up front and at least 50% of any hand dryers they receive should they sell him on.

Law was very underated at VP, his ability to carry the ball into the opponents half was excellent. Very good at ball retention but was harshly judged on his end product.

Probably because we know that realistically we have no chance of getting him.

Does anyone remember these clowns in charge telling us we had money to invest and we would be ready for January? Right about the time Crankshaw was sold.

We have invested our funds into short term loans. Got a panic buy striker in and sold our captain just before the deadline.

Absolutely no vision at this club.

I admire that and see where you are coming from but the problem here is certainly since we got relegated to league two we continue to see history repeat itself.
We come out of a window in most fans view worse off and then the results go to shite and we all say we told you so. Then we get told to wait for the next window and we have money to spend and a new manager who takes no shit. And we do the same things again. Sign injured crap players and blame someone else. So we sack Turnbull and appoint a fancy new scouting team and again sign cheap crap loans and missing players and any small saleable
Asset is gone. No planning comes into it.

it’s almost like we ring around and see who’s available rather than have targets in mind. It’s smacks of a shambles every time and then results prove us right.

    but we go again?

The true decent chairman/CEOs/visionaries in football or whatever you want to call them, spot the problems before the fans. Same with the managers. They appoint good people and back them and are not scared to think outside the box. Look at Wenger when he took over at arsenal. Most said he wouldn’t stand a chance.
Richmond when he appointed Jewell. Again no chance. But they proved us wrong and took us all on the best journey ever

We don’t have any of that now. We go for what are a safish pair of hands in a manager. Drop all our philosophies (develop youth, have a recruitment head) on his say so and most of all do it as cheap as we can. It’s rubbish and fans are fed up

Can't see any problem with this, it may turn out a complete flop or he may be one of the pieces of the jigsaw Adams is looking for. Lack of game time doesn't concern me, I'll wait and see what he offers before condemning the lad.

If we operated like a big club we would be throwing our weight around and taking advantage of Newport's supposed financial difficulties with a bid for the league's top scorer. He's a proper poacher type and looks like he would complement what we have.

A good striker will most likely be the difference between a mid table finish and a promotion charge. Now is not the time to be stingy.

Seriously? I liked Wyke, but Lee Mills was several classes better - great in the air, good shot with both feet and held the ball up beautifully. He was operating at the top of what is now the Championship and would have been fine in the PL had he not fallen out with Jagger. It was a dark day when we let him go and replaced him with Ashley 'I can fall over faster than you' Ward.

The sort of speculative signing we should be making. Heck it might not work but if we keep churning out the tired old Ross Hannah excuse we'd never sign anyone again. This sort of signing excites me more than tired old journeymen signed an hour before the deadline.

Not for me. Would much rather go for someone younger that has potential and hunger to improve.

This time last year after the same amount of games Bolton were in 17th and with 4 points less than what we have now, and were arguably poorer in the first half of the season than what we've been so far. They added a few in January (including flop Marcus Maddison) and ended up in 3rd.

The difference in performance after adding Walker yesterday was massive in my opinion, and adding more there's no reason we can't do a Bolton in such a poor league.

And dismissing that win because Salford went down to 10 men is pointless. I think to score 2 goals against ten men behind the ball defending a 1-0 lead is tougher than against 11 men still looking for a goal.

I bet you wouldn't be saying that if we'd signed him. He'd be shite and too old.

We never seem to learn do we?

Planning for January has already started, we will be ready, already identified targets, we know areas we need to strengthen, etc,etc etc. All lines trotted out regularly by the club. Yet, as the final week of January hits, where are we? Apparently still missing out on said targets and yet throwing in random signings which no apparent thought process behind them.

Despite all the waffle, our recruitment so far has been....

A twenty year old version of lord Lucan, signed presumably on the premis of developing him (for Luton not us). One game this year for Yeovil, a winger signed to play in a team had doesn't play with wingers despite starting the season with arguably five of them.

Matt Daly, signed to develop for Huddersfield s benefit. Recently in and out of the Hartlepool side, with a goals tally heavily inflated by goals against under 18s in the Mickey mouse cup. Signed but then played out of position on his debut, presumably because we have an abundance players already capable of playing his preferred position.

Jamie walker, could be anything hopefully will go well but Definite uncertainty regarding his reliability, one start in a year (his debut here) shows this.

Now we end up being linked with a goalkeeper, with 8 league starts since 2018, and loan spells with non league clubs. Presumably on peanuts so we can save on RODs wage.

I'm sorry but this club drives me up the wall, hopefully far enough up the wall, I won't be arsed renewing next year because I'm sick of it

Point proven ffs. No money to spend. Don’t even bother with rest of season. Owners have given up on it. One cheap loan incoming

No sign of a striker & I doubt we will get one other clubs can but not us
In the Summer we was after Bogle at Doncaster, e has still not played for them, and is out of contract in the summer
Nhaki Wells is sat on the bench at Bristol
Swindon lose a forward and replace him with another inside 24 hours
Or is it we are waiting for another crocked donkey to become available
No goal scorers in the club but goalkeepers and midfield player to fill two teams
A week to go to end of window and we will be left with only cook Robinson & livery or what ever his name is
Same old Bradford City recruitment CRAP

It’s taken Rupp 5 years to relegate us around 35 places and take us no further forward off the field. Oh we are so well off with our overlord

We clearly create chances but struggle to take them. I'm not sure in what kind of parallel universe getting rid of the bloke that's making the majority of the chances will make us "more effective"?

Partly but when you bring in Lavary and Robinson as half your striker force and two of your key signings are from Scunthorpe who just stayed up, then those holding the purse strings also need to take a lot of blame. The players need to have a look at themselves as well.
