Taylor seems to be a jack of all trades master of none, wouldnt have much confidence with him getting to the byline, beating his man and whipping in a cross. Think hes our go to utility player for the next 5 months! Not sure Pritchard is a winger either, seems to prefer to be played centrally. Looks like Ismail is made of glass, I dont think Connolly has a left foot, Devitt is no winger and Gibson is shat and should be offloaded by the end of the window. Still think we need and out and out left winger to supply this sensational strikeforce

 

Agree it's all about the formation now. If Doyle is going to feature, it would be absolute madness not to change things to play to his strengths.

 

The middle of the park yesterday for City was diabolical. Reeves, back from 2 years out, then hailed as the messiah, has a fantastic gift of being able to look incredibly busy by doing very little. His hair flicks and short sprints result in picking the ball up in space then ALWAYS taking the easy option of a pointless sideways pass or a negative move backwards. Theres no fear of him getting on the ball looking forward, carrying the ball into an attacking position and no way would we get a through ball from him for attackers to run on to.

In Palmer, we have the same apart from he doesn't look half as busy.

We have a relatively good defence, a striker line up that most L2 managers would die for, but no midfield to knit any of it together. Too many substandard midfielders on the books now and if Bowyer doesn't make the necessary moves in this window (the next 3 weeks) to get rid of some of the chaff, and enhance the squad to get us promoted with the budget hes got to work with then he has to go for me....

 

I mean you really have to question whatever the transfer policy is, if there even is one, when theres a player like Cooke available for free and we aren't interested.

 

Yet we gave new contracts to dog shit like Anderson and devine without a second thought. Oh and signed that waste of a wage chris taylor. Beggars belief honestly.

 

But if Parky insisted he came to us, wouldn't that just be out of the frying pan into the fire? We'd be getting rid of 2 players who don't want to be here and signing another who has stated he doesn't want to be here before he's even arrived!

 

You still think parker broke the doyle and vaughan story first because of your inability to read the time correctly. Your opinion doesn't hold much value.

 

Criticism and vitriol are two completely different things. I don't go in for vitriol but I will criticise when I see things being done badly.
I have a fairly high tolerance of dull, pragmatic football if it achieves results. But there has to be a coherent plan to do that. Parky could be dull at times, but he always had a strategy to get us out of our own half and he didn't pump long high balls onto the heads of short, fox in the box forwards. Sure, we've been without Donaldson for too long but I refuse to believe it's beyond the wit of a halfway decent manager to fashion a different attacking strategy in his absence.

 

To be fair, Julian is as pragmatic and risk-averse as Bowyer.

Not wanting to pump money into the pitch and wanting to save money on the squad doesn't mean admin.

It probably means the board acknowledge we're definitely not getting promoted this season, so might as well save money on expensive strikers who haven't set the world alight for us, and that the pitch wasn't an emergency pre-season, which it probably wasn't.

But let's be real here: it's this lack of ambition to push for automatic promotion by investing a few more bob that has upset the fanbase. They'll reap what they've sown next season, despite the cheap season ticket prices.

For this club, there will be no greater disaster than low attendances at rock bottom prices.

It's been okay up until now because fans have backed the club - even after Rahic last season, but immediately succeeded by Rupp/Rhodes' excessive shrewdness AND Gary Bowyer's tedious manure-ball, it's a perfect storm for a bit of a rude awakening for the club.

Warnock saying he wants back in and will take a club in lower league.

Sack that joker Bowyer if we lose tomorrow and bring Warnock in.. that would be the best move for the club.

Graham Carey would be a quality signing.
