An over reaction?
Not here. I don’t think refusing to accept the club getting killed from the inside is an over reaction at all.

I guess that I usually fall in to the happy clapper side of things but I think that by and large, the reaction to the match on Saturday has been reasonable. Granted, some people have descended into hyperbole but the vast majority of criticism has been balanced and we are not just talking about the usual whingers who slate the club at the drop of a hat, the criticism is coming from across the board.
Was it the worst performance of all time? Probably not but it was one of the worst performances of recent years, I think that most fans would be hard pushed to come up with 5 worse ones from the last 5 years which is an indication that it was a stinker. What is for certain though is that if in May we're looking back on the Wycombe match and it's not the stand out worst perfomance of the season then we are going to be lucky if we're not watching L2 next season.RCarol, BoingBoing, Bumblebee_Tuna and 1 other person like this. -
I'm not one for going off my head over a couple bad results, it's football it happens..
However this goes waaayyyy beyond the results.. There is nothing in the "performances" to suggest the players have a clue what they're supposed to be doing..
For me the reasons for this are:
The players aren't doing what is asked of them,
The players aren't capable of doing what is asked of them,
The players don't believe in what is being asked of them and therefore aren't doing it,
Or MC is just so tactically naive and clueless that he is asking the players to play this way.
Whatever the reasons things need to change and quick, loan signings need to be made this week and sooner rather than later. CM is a real issue and FFS get someone up top to help Doyle as he is more isolated than polar bear on a melting ice cap!!Onside, Rogered Tart, Fuzzy and 1 other person like this. -

I like the idea JulesMP thinks that the fans are causing us to lose games because we're causing a chink in our armour. thats magificent. There's absolutely no way that isn't directly from Edin Rahic.
he's been blaming the fans for months now. negativity causing unrest. and anyone who doesn't blindly back him and his ideas isn't a true City fan.Bronco, BoingBoing, Bumblebee_Tuna and 1 other person like this. -

Yes other ‘managers’ have been given more time. However Collins is not a manager and never ever has been. Previously he was the part time coach of the under 18’s, who I understand did not perform well under his guidance. He suddenly becomes the ‘Coach’ of a team where half the new recruits in the summer had already signed. So he has not had much influence on the appointment of half the team. Frankly I fear that he is well out of his depth, and feel he has been encouraged to take on a roll, tha he is not currently equipped for. I actually think he was foolish to accept the role of Head Coach.
I am not hitting the panic button, but I am deeply concerned that the situation is going into a ‘tail spin’.
I am sure that you remember clubs like Stockport County, York city, Darlington, Chester and even Southport, who now play their football in the National League North. I guess some of their fans may have struggled to see the potential demise, when they were members of the Football Laeague, a bit like some City fans at the moment!
Finally you say ‘let’s give this group the same’, in respect to ‘time’! So how long is this time? Perhaps three more games? Because if we get well beaten and have not got at least three points out the possible nine (and that is difficult to say but t realistic, given the fixtures), then I think more than enough time has elapsed. I look forward to your considered response.bantamdave41, River_City_Bantam and Bronco like this. -

I spoke with Greg the day Stuart was sacked down at Rawdon Meadows he was pouring his heart out what a great guy he was and how he was invited to live with Stuarts family when he arrived from Coventry.
He did come across genuinely upset with the sacking of Stuart, I thought at the time a man of his standing and very close friend of McCall's he would have nothing to do with the footballing side of things under any new manager/coach (apart from his input with transfer dealings), just shows you how wrong you can judge a guy by what he says.Budgie, Onside and Craven Cottager like this. -

We have now gone from back to back play off losses to relegation candidates in just over 12 months and you want patience? Don’t talk shite pal.BoingBoing, Morley Bantam and HUDDERSSBANTAM like this. -
Yep. A guy who was 7 years away from his last major achievement who'd been out of the game due to Ill health and had to all intents and purposes resigned from football. He was even only appointed because he literally rang up and offered to step in. If that doesn't count as a weird appointment then I think we're losing all perspective.
Believe me. I'm baffled by what I'm seeing at VP at the minute but let's not whitewash the previous era because PP rescued them (and us) in every way possible.BradfordBanter, RonnieBrown and Rogered Tart like this. -
