Micky Kennedy....jeez he'd scare the life out of this team, his own team mates, let alone the opposition...I doubt he'd get to 30 games a season these days with the 'over aggressive' way that they referee. Hated him when he played for other teams but loved him when he played for us!! Think that says it all really!!

Stopped reading after you said getting relegated wasn't a tragedy. We put our arse into getting out of league two and you'd be happy going back there? We thought wedw get back up in no time but ended up stuck there for so many years, it'd be the same again if we get relegated. Remember Rahic saying free premeirship tickets not so long back? You might be happy with us languishing in the basement of English football, but most people don't spent 150 quid a year on a new ticket to put up with that for years to come.

 

Expectation came from the owners. We did n’t have that expectation under Rhodes and Lawn. These guys were n’t asked, they just told us their plans and their dream. Who would n’t get excited?

Yes, things weren't always great under the previous owners. City stumbled along without getting anywhere and it was luck rather than strategy that meant Parkinson arrived.

In all that time, the atmosphere surrounding the club wasn't as poisonous or negative as it is now though. They didn't attempt to try and fix what wasn't broken or make bizarre managerial appointments either. Give me Montegnèe and Willy Topp over the numerous substandard Rahic signings, any day of the week.

City were an underachieving lower league team under Lawn & Rhodes, but they weren't a club that had gone from what looked like a brighter future to one that's in permanent crisis in a couple of years. Players and managers have come and gone. Yet still something appears to be askew. The only static presence has been Rahic, which makes it difficult to conclude that it isn't him that's the problem.

I think it's becoming clearer by the day that City will never succeed under Rahic. No manager of any worth will work under the conditions he lays down. Bantams Progressivism can only return when he's no longer associated with the club.

 

I think your memory is starting to play tricks if you think the club didn't go from a position with a bright future to one of crisis. Premership to the edge of non-league with 2 admins on the way ring any bells?

As for strange managerial appointment they literally gave the main job to a lad who was running a care home. Can you actually imagine?

 

I'm starting to wonder... would a German coach be preferable now? Someone who gets exactly where Rahic is coming from, no risk of cultural/language misunderstandings. He's tried to appease the fans by putting a club legend/Englishmen in charge and it hasn't worked. Perhaps someone with a different mind-set would do better.

 

The fall from the Prem to the 4th division was primarily Richmond's doing. It was almost exclusively to do with finance, the present situation is something else entirely. I can't even criticise this summer's recruitment. On paper, they should be performing at a far higher standard than they are. You can't have witnessed Saturday's game in particular and not be bemused by what you saw?

At least Jacko had been a football manager before and a successful one at that!
