Richmond and Rhodes. You can't absolve them of that. The fall was very much under their watch as was the £8m(?) dividend payment from a loss making company. Imagine Rahic doing that!

Yep. A guy who was 7 years away from his last major achievement who'd been out of the game due to Ill health and had to all intents and purposes resigned from football. He was even only appointed because he literally rang up and offered to step in. If that doesn't count as a weird appointment then I think we're losing all perspective.

Believe me. I'm baffled by what I'm seeing at VP at the minute but let's not whitewash the previous era because PP rescued them (and us) in every way possible.

 

Why not have a bus load of Germans who know nothing about our league 1? At least it will give them a few months to gen up on league 2.

 

Something unusual happened to the phyche of City fans over the last 3-4 years. We came out of a dark dark time into a period of incredible highs, I often found myself asking where it would end (knowing that it inevitably would but almost believing that it might not).

Then came the Paladini episode, which if nothing else made some fans kiddy at the the thought of having an endless pot of money (wonder if he's still looking for the end of that rainbow?)
Takeover-fever spread, you saw it on here, and by the time R&R showed up, many believed (or wanted to believe) that fortunes might just have changed for good.

I think that goes some way to explaining why this new period of doom and gloom is hitting some so hard. I still don't feel as fearful as I did in the early 2000s and don't quite understand why some do, but regardless of all that, the club is being damaged, and I for one hope Edin pulls something out of the bag quick before this gets nasty.

 

I thought that would happen once Grayson walked away. Either he didn't want or try to appoint a German coach, or even they said "thanks, but no thanks". I still struggle to believe that out of everyone that was approached, a 32 year old complete novice was the right appointment.

To be fair, I can't criticise the managerial appointments prior to Collins. McCall was obviously appointed to appease the fans after a very successful manager had left. Grayson had an impeccable record with clubs in League One. To go from those two to Collins. Especially after a second half of the season that had seen the fanbase becoming increasingly fractious and concerned about the club's direction of travel. Still strikes me as being from so far out of left field that it would be regarded as unbelievable if it appeared in a work of fiction.

 

All rahic has to do are three simple actions

1. Replace Collins and co with a real football manager
2. Let said manager “manage” all football related issues
3. Earn the money he takes out of the club by becoming a genuine chief executive

Do that and in time he’ll be forgiven and ultimately accepted.

We don’t demand promotion, though it would be nice, we just want stability and hope.

I guess that I usually fall in to the happy clapper side of things but I think that by and large, the reaction to the match on Saturday has been reasonable. Granted, some people have descended into hyperbole but the vast majority of criticism has been balanced and we are not just talking about the usual whingers who slate the club at the drop of a hat, the criticism is coming from across the board.

Was it the worst performance of all time? Probably not but it was one of the worst performances of recent years, I think that most fans would be hard pushed to come up with 5 worse ones from the last 5 years which is an indication that it was a stinker. What is for certain though is that if in May we're looking back on the Wycombe match and it's not the stand out worst perfomance of the season then we are going to be lucky if we're not watching L2 next season.

Oh and for the record, some of the very worst performances I’ve seen in 35 years were under PP.

And that was a big strength of PP's. We'd have bad performances & poor runs, but he always turned it around.

He wouldn't be able to turn his car around due to the positioning of his arms.

 

And every single one of them was worth the big wins and lifelong memories that came alongside them.

Hysterical over reaction? We've gone from having a team 90 mins away from the Championship to one that I think will go down, in a little over 12 months, way to go!

This is not a language or cultural issue. It's a control issue because we have someone at the top who believes he knows better. Unless German coaches are all puppets of their boards I can't see a German coach of substance coming anywhere near us.

 

I'm not one for going off my head over a couple bad results, it's football it happens..

However this goes waaayyyy beyond the results.. There is nothing in the "performances" to suggest the players have a clue what they're supposed to be doing..

For me the reasons for this are:

The players aren't doing what is asked of them,
The players aren't capable of doing what is asked of them,
The players don't believe in what is being asked of them and therefore aren't doing it,
Or MC is just so tactically naive and clueless that he is asking the players to play this way.

Whatever the reasons things need to change and quick, loan signings need to be made this week and sooner rather than later. CM is a real issue and FFS get someone up top to help Doyle as he is more isolated than polar bear on a melting ice cap!!
