As one of our older posters like me you'll have seen far worse when we've been the other end of the table.
The footballs not the best but with the situation as it is I'll take our league position.

My over-riding point is, if we WERE a big club, with real ambition of getting to the Championship, we wouldn't be so accepting of 'its division 4 football so don't expect us to be entertaining'. We'd be demanding better football, we'd be EXPECTING to run away with the division. Look at the likes of Sheff United in League 1 - every season they spent there, their fans considered an embarrassment. We don't have the same mentality. We're not a big club, ready to resurrect ourselves. We're a 3-4th division club. We are where we belong. We're about to sell the league's highest goalscorer to a team we're supposedly competing with. We fixate on cheap tickets. 'Macclesfield is a tough place to go, they haven't lost at home all season' etc. Changing our formation to combat the mighty Newport at home. We're entirely at home here, that's the sad reality.

And yes, I think we're largely pointless. Not in the sense of it not being something that people still see as an 'important' part of their lives, a hobby of passion etc. But in footballing terms, we're going nowhere. There's no real plan, no real ambition. We mirror the city as a whole. Dying a slow death while our near neighbours prosper. That's honestly how I see it. Most, if not all at League 2 football is a pointless entity. As is much of League 1. The longer we're out of the championship, the harder it will be to get and stay there. The divide is growing every year.

@Fordy117@Fordy117 is Bradford city's version of micheal Knighton bigs himself up that he is such a successful businessman but when push comes to shove he hasn't got a pot to piss in. But still believes it.

    What a great suggestion.

If Fordy spent only half of his time on BT posting his comments helping City instead, imagine what that would do to put the club on a better path. He of course would then only have half the time to post on here. Win-win! ;)

Totally agreed. If it doesn't work out, Nathan Jones is out there, a passionate manager who plays expansive football. Think the Stoke move was too soon for him, but worked wonders at Luton.

This is bang on, its the go to excuse along with sacking Martin Drury. 4-3-3 can be construed as conservative when its played like we are currently playing. It does have benefits, teams aren't running through our non existent midfield with an extra body in there. But on the flip side the way we're set up creates less chances.

Yes I would think Bowyer has a better budget, on the flip side Flynn has had 4/5 seasons to build a squad.

Of the last five games we haven’t won 3 were cup ties and one of the games was a reserve team in the EFL cup. @Fordy117@Fordy117 described the cup ties as Micky mouse competition including the FA cup and we should be knocked out ASAP. Now we are out he’s using these games as a stick to beat Bowyer with. Incidentally in the Mickey Mouse FA cup our dear neighbours from Elland road are about to pocket £1 million from their Mickey Mouse tie at Arsenal.

Really hoping for a win tomorrow. It's going to be a very difficult occasion for me whatever the score. My dad who introduced me to city over 30 years ago died on Sunday.

He stopped going regularly a few years ago but we still talked city all the time. The thought of not being able to do that ever again is simply unbearable.

Isn't that the new double jeopardy rule whereby a red card, penalty and possible goal was seen as too severe on the defending team?

Quite possibly the worst performance i’ve seen from a team at VP for a long time, is that really the best that Flynn can serve up? Up until them cocking up it was appalling. We keep mentioning how bad this division but we have to get out of it at the first attempt cos it sucks the life out of you.

Of course Reeves was MOTM. Who would you have given it to?

To be fair to Bowyer. He had to change his intended team ans formation due to 3 injuries to Pritchard, BRE and Akpan. It wasnt pretty today, but I will take 1-0 wins all day long
