Job done, best we’ve looked with 3 at the back defensively, but I’m not a fan of it. Our CBs just aren’t good enough at bringing the ball out from the back to make it work imo.

Quite possibly the worst performance i’ve seen from a team at VP for a long time, is that really the best that Flynn can serve up? Up until them cocking up it was appalling. Hardly a great team performance but three good points, it had to get better second half, what a day a long long time since I've seen a police presence like today I asked a bobby why and he said they'd been tipped off Newport were bringing trouble, went out at the bottom of Hollywell Ash Lane there must have been 10 bikes loads of police cars maria's the works and when we went to our car the police were escorting about 30/40 Newport fans down Nestfield Street a bit like the Millwall thugs they were not kids, they obviously hadn't been at the game.
Add to that Flynn and Bowyer having a face off on the touchline a good afternoon apart from that first half.

That performance just sums bowyer up. Clueless. He doesn't know his team he does know how to get the best out of them.

 

A good day all round we won which is all you can ask, yes I'd have liked us to have been better but 3 points was just what we needed.
Plymouth lost
Northampton lost although Exeter got the 3 points Northampton were the form team.
Forest Green got beat at home.
Wallsall beat Port Vale another form team.
Unfortunately Cheltenham beat Mansfield.
And we move up a place still with a game in hand.
Now for a Joshua win.

 

I said Newport were very direct and I wasn't surprised that it was a dour match, but we got the job done. I thought Reeves was our best midfielder today, I'm surprised to see him recover his sharpness so quickly after nearly two years out.

I think people are forgetting how many boring and completely uninspiring 1-0 wins we had under Phil Parkinson. This league is dire, some games are going to be dire. I don't think we'll start playing in a more eye catching way until Donaldson is back from injury and we can hold the ball up the right end of the field.
