I put Joshua to get knocked down but win at 9/2, only value I could find. Think he’ll win but Heavyweights can be very unpredictable.

 

What odds can I get for been bored to death by round 4? He’ll keep jabbing that fat lad until 12.

 

I was at an event yesterday with Danny Tetley the Bradford boxer and I was a bit surprised when I asked him who he fancied he said Ruiz, when I asked him why he said he believe getting beat and taking those head shots will make Joshua aware he cant just walk into the ring and knock opponents where as Ruiz will be more confident in the knowledge he can beat Joshua.
I still fancy Joshua though.
Now for 3 points at Orient back to back wins, then possibly have Donaldson somewhere near for the home game against Salford.

To be fair to Bowyer. He had to change his intended team ans formation due to 3 injuries to Pritchard, BRE and Akpan. It wasnt pretty today, but I will take 1-0 wins all day long

 

Shed a couple of tears in that game, it wasn't the best but I'm so happy to get the win for my dad

Was BRE out injured, I thought Bowyer might have dropped him after his rash challenge last Saturday at Macclesfield and the one at Cheltenham but when I saw he couldn't even make the bench I thought it might have been an injury when we brought Anderson on I was saying to the grandson BRE with his aerial dominance would have been ideal in those last 10 minutes or so.

 

To be honest I didn't call him anything he was stood near us having a coke on his lonesome and you know me Al I'll talk to anyone , I just said who do you fancy Saturday night, and surprised me with his rely.
Just googled it your right it's a good job I didn't call him Danny, that's the Bradford singer, and it was only my first pint, embarrassing or what.

 

First half was abysmal, no plan, no idea, no attacking intent whatsoever. Somehow we managed to be worse than last week.

Second half exactly the same until the goal. That then sparked us into life and and it should've been 3/4 in the end but the keeper made a couple of worldie saves.

Still creating the grand sum of feck all from open play but nice to see us looking dangerous from set pieces for the first time in about 3 years.

Don't think that midfield balance was right at all either. It was essentially 3 of the same type of players. I would prefer Cooke, Reeves and then McCartan or Zeli playing the 10 role in front.

 

Yes definitely injured. All three could be struggling for next week too.

 

Not the most entertaining match I've ever seen but I'll take that every week if it means we go up! I thought Reeves was exactly what we have been missing mobile, good movement but rusty but that was to be expected. We looked like we have been working very hard on set pieces and Reeves delivery was first class we will get goals from that going forward!

 

Anyone know what was going on with the K Block lot today? I noticed the lack of drumming etc all first half, then went to town second half. Just seen something on the K Block twitter feed about withholding support for the first 50 mins? Didn’t say why though...?

Dire to watch, thought the experience of Cooke and Reeves and Taylor together would create more but they didnt.
Cooke was really quiet today imo, Henley not offered much as a wing back but Connor Wood was his usual good self.
Newport only managed 1 shot on target the whole game so that is a plus for us.
Liked seeing Vaughan and Oteh playing closer together but missed seeing what a Zeli or Connolly or Pritchard could do today.
Cant one of these play wing back please santa!

 

We won’t win if we play like that every week, can’t rely on the opposition being as shite as Newport were. A pitiful display from a hoofball team.

Those wanting M Flynn as our manager have probably changed their mind after today.

They are a big team but jeez the time wasting, fouling and their general all round crapness was hard on the eyes.

Considering we had to change formation on Friday due to injuries then I am happy to win today.

Reeves was a stand out today. Some good forward passing especially that one to Oteh first half splitting their defence. Also getting stuck in on the tackles and winning the ball back.

Unbeaten in December and long may that continue.

 

What galls me is the fact that we're nearly at Christmas and we're nowhere near a consistent system. We get a different system every week. In all the many years I've watched football the most successful teams in all divisions have been those that had a settled formation with settled personnel amd let the opposition worry about them. There seems to be a trend in football at the moment for managers to adapt their squads to each game to counter the opposition. It just doesn't work, but unfortunately Bowyer seems to be its greatest advocate. Just go back to 4-4-2 with the best players we have available.
