I'm shocked its taken this long.

Even I can't be arsed with going Tuesday night. The second half was all on Adams.

Bronco, the simple fact is BOTH right backs are not good enough if we are ever going to progress. The way Adams handled yesterday was his usual blunt and no self-blame style but his abrupt calling out of Finn does not hide they are both a mistake waiting to happen. Most of the fan base can see it

We looked a completely different team in the second half to the first half, with the same right back!

You can dissect any game and apportion blame elsewhere for players not doing their job, in this case both FCD & Canavan DIDN'T defend the crosses no matter how you try to claim otherwise, its not hard to grasp.
If its scapegoating maybe we should close the forum down it's my opinion with regards both incidents that lead to both goals.

I've agreed in the post you're replying to there is nothing between the pair, but as FCD is one of our development kids IMO he should be given game time when available, but if he continues making the same defensive errors switching off, ball watching as he did at Salford then you can't keep selecting him so Adams only alternative is back to Threlkeld, could Staunton play right full back he couldn't be any worse.
I'd say so far this season the majority of goals we have conceded have come from our right defensive area.

If he was and they took no notice then why not change it and put them on the back foot why just stand there and do nothing ????
Why not put Elliot on much earlier to at least push them back ???
He did nothing till it was to late yet again :( He must have known that Crawley where gonna come after us no I can understand leaving it 5/10 minutes and then make a change but yet again nothing to combat it .................. most managers will make changes if it’s not going well but he doesn’t he always waits for the inevitable to happen then reacts when it’s to late :(

Its happened too many times for him not to Dave
Go one up and sit deep to defend the lead no team can withstand 45_60mins constant bombardment
The fans know, it the opposition know it, am beginning to think our own players know it,
Valuable lesson for Mr Adams you don't concede goals when you play your football in the opposition half
Expecting a lonesome Cook to hold the ball single handedly in the opposition half from a hoofed clearance is just surrendering possession at best

We've no width going forward unless Vernam is playing and we can't defend width either.

Crawley dictated the game second half dragging us over to one side of the pitch making us even narrower, At times you could have had another game going on there was so much room on the other side, Adams must have seen this along with everyone else but did nothing, The simple addition of a winger told to stay out wide would have stopped that happening and give us the much needed outlet we needed to stop them controlling the game and protect our full back more. but as usual he stood and watched as they took the game away from us

I've argued many times in the past his substitutions were questionable but I'm not having it he's told them to defend our lead in the second half, he was constantly gesturing for them to push up, a bad result on the day but IMO you're reading too much into the situation, but hay that's what forums are all about different takes/opinions on the game.

It’s not just yesterday though it’s time after time :( if yesterday was a one off then fair enough but this as gone on the majority of the season ..............if he is like you say pushing them up the pitch then why do they continue to sit back ????
I could point to a number of games that this as happened now if that’s happened months ago then why is it not drilled into them on the training ground not to sit so deep ????
Btw he more or less set up the same at Morecambe so it’s no coincidence is it ????
Go a goal up and just sit back is a common theme with this guy

Nah not having that, his team have just produced a good first half creating chances (unfortunately only the one taken ) having 68% possession prior to half time and he says, forget that good first half go out there and defend the1 goal lead.

Fascinating stat produced by someone on twitter today....

15 times we have gone 1-0 this season, on 12 of those occasions we have gone on to concede the next goal.

Read into that what you will. To me we don't go after teams enough, when teams are there for the taking for some reason we seem happy with what we have.

Radio Leeds quizzed Callum Cooke yesterday on a lack of killer instinct, he appeared to be wanting to answer the question more honestly than he knew he could

look at the stat bellow 15 times we’ve gone 1 nil up and on twelve occasions we’ve conceded the next goal .......... surly a team going all out for the next goal won’t concede the next goal on 12/15 occasions ????

Adams is like an Aldi Mourinho. 1-0 up and then defend, and just blame the players when it goes wrong.

I don't want us to have to change another manager, but I can't see us moving forward under him. That said, he's far from being the only - or even main - problem.

If we had done what we should, and killed the game off in the second half, they would have been in a position to make those mistakes.

Throwing people under a bus is poor management in any profession.

It happens too often to be coincidence @Bronco@Bronco. Get on the front foot and close down the space. I sense the players have lost confidence in his tactics. Look at the start of the season and first half yesterday and you can see how the players enjoy the high tempo game. Now look at the remaining 90% of games and you don’t see a smile on their face. They’re not enjoying the tactics employed. The best form of defence is to attack, something we were warned Adams was averse to before he turned up. Regardless of who might join in the next 24 hours, if the instruction is to let the opposition have the ball then we’re fecked.

I don't need to look I don't believe for one minute any manager who's side have played so well the first half would tell those same players to go out and defend a 1 - 0 lead, sorry I can't agree.

That's the point I am disagreeing with, are we seriously saying after playing some decent stuff the first half with 68% possession at one time he sent the players out second half telling them to allow Crawley possession, it doesn't make sense more so if its failed so many times previously.
