Looking at this squad and given Mark Hughes and Glynn Hodges experience I can only see us improving the more games we play. Saturday was a good example of how things are changing. We didn't really deserve to win that game, but we did. In recent seasons we would have lost that game easily, 1-3 or even 1-4. We've got more quality now , plus strong players who can come off the bench to tighten things up when we need to see out a game. I expected Yann Songo'o to leave but I am glad he didn't. He's unlikely to start many games, certainly not in midfield but he's a good player to bring off the subs bench, especially with the new substitution rules.

Was it him that scouted the (in Kammy's words) "Pea sized heart" Roual D'Olivera, who refused to play in the away match at Barnsley.

On the evidence so far this season, Harry Lewis is far too good for league 2 or 1.
With 18 months left on his contract the club should now be looking to tie him down for 5 years, because championship clubs will be courting him in the summer. He will inevitably move up the leagues but we need to be in a position to cash in when he does.

Isn't it great that we finally have a keeper that we can see and say is a cut above most in the division, I think only Orient can also claim that at the moment. He's a breath of fresh air and we need to work hard to make sure we can keep him.

Comparing him to Pickford, albeit he played in League One for us, I don't see a lot between the two apart from Lewis not having the red mist that Pickford often displayed.

Not a div 2 keeper. Div 1 or championship level.

Great to have a keeper that is above the level we are currently at.

I think Lewis is even better than Pickford was for us. I know Pickford continued his progress elsewhere and has done very well to achieve England number 1 status, but he was very raw and nervous when he started with us.

Lewis would not look out of place in the Championship now. We will do very well to hold onto him beyond this season

Hopefully he won’t want to go to a championship team and sit on the bench again, he’s done that for the last 5/6 years.

Lewis isn't anywhere near as good with his feet as Pickford and it's a stretch to suggest that Lewis will get anywhere near those levels.

You've also got to factor in that Pickford was much younger and had more time to develop that Lewis will have who came into senior football quite late.

Club have a years option on his contact. He's on a deal here until 2025 already.

True but Pickford has basically peaked at a very young age. He's not going any further "up" unless he goes to a top PL or European side. So trajectory wise Lewis will now only get closer to him as Lewis goes up. So Lewis could get up to a similar level now Pickford will plateau, Pickford will have just spent more time at a high level. Plus keepers have a longer career than outfield players so Lewis has more time to get there.

Not saying Lewis will get there just just that Keepers are different to outfield players and harder to judge I'd say. There's many we'd say are ordinary but have good careers in the PL, Championship or Scottish PL.

Pickford is the no.1 English keeper in the world and has played in a European championships final and a world cup semi final, all at 28 years of age. Yes he's still not played top European football but there's no doubt he's got the ability, he's just at a very poor club at the moment.

If Lewis even gets to the PL as a no.1 he'll have done well but to suggest he's got the potential to be in the same bracket as Pickford after a dozen league 2 games is nuts. Sorry BB but I honestly just can't get my head around it.

I also didn't say he'd get there I was merely saying that I think it's different for keepers than for outfield players because they play for a longer period of time so the opportunity to bridge the gap is greater, I'd say.

Is he the best keeper though or just the current managers favourite? I find it hard to judge tbh.

Can't disagree with that. The best similarities between them both is that they both have the ability to win points on their own performances. I still remember Pickfords performance away at Preston, one of the best keeping displays i've ever seen from a city keeper.
Whether Lewis will ever get anywhere near those heights, only time will tell. But he's definitely got the attributes to go a lot further up the league ladder. From there a lot of it is a case of being in the right place at the right time.

I think he is, certainly the best "all rounder" with his distribution but I also know there's a debate and Ramsdale and Pope aren't a million miles away.

I hope our recruitment team have got their eyes on another keeper. I just can’t see Lewis being with us next season. Listen to the audio on the save today, the Stevenage fans were already celebrating!
We’ll miss him when he goes.

His time here will prove short lived, I agree, but if we get a season out of him then we’d get more games than we got out of Skippy before Middlesborough snared him.

Love Harry. Great character and quality keeper. Huuuuuuuuuge upgrade on ROD and Hornby.

I wonder how many of the young kids watching City have him as their favorite. Like you say, great character and most definitely a quality keeper. Up the chickens (or something like that).

Lewis is prime example of what a great keeper does for you. Yesterday he pulled off 2 top drawer saves without which we’d have come home empty handed. A match winning performance.

Lewis is the best keeper at city since Pickford. Actually very similar to Pickford has a bright future and conducts himself well. A credit to the club. We should try to tie him up longer as his value will be significant. If he isn’t in the PFA team this year I would genuinely be surprised.
