Of course - we know more than most that the boom/bust method often comes back to bite you. But Edin & Stefan also need appreciate that there is a recovery job on this summer. The squad isn't good enough and, in my opinion at least, League One is looking like a stronger league next season. Grayson staying would be the first sign that we are serious about competing next season.

I don’t call winning boring and Grayson has a history of winning. Stuff the style of play we can worry about that where we have a platform for it.

But their plan is/was not to "fund" a promotion chasing team, but to build one, so how will it work with Grayson?

It won't and that's why Grayson will ply his trade elsewhere.
There is nothing to stop him from committing now, but Grayson's reluctant stance borders on sheer arrogance from a man who as obviously made his mind up.
    He's off.

I don't believe it is to build one either though.

Building it how? Hoping that McCartan becomes a world beater when he can't even get a game?? Buying more shi&e from div 2??

I just don't think they know. I am starting to believe pomotion is far from what they want.

Great, because I cant take much more of Guy trying to hoof it over every stand whilst simultaneously becoming the fans favourite.

I wouldn't mind that. However, my fear is that a younger manager would become edin's puppet and settle for a tiny budget. We need a strong character like Grayson to keep edin in his place

I think his point was proven after the second Southend goal. Law didn't cross and 20 seconds later the ball is in our net.

Actually, I think if George Best had not applied himself in training when he came over as a youngster, senior players like Bill Foulkes would have soon sorted him out.
Obviously I wasnt comparing Gibson with Best, but my point is, should a kid who may show a bit of ability, be given a first team shirt, if he cannot be bothered in training. The professional game has been littered with scores of youngsters like Gibson, who obviously had the talent, but not the application and desire to go on and make a good career in the game, I used Warnock earlier as the perfect example of seemingly being the model professional

This isn’t about running his arse off, it is about playing in training as if it was a match. Different era now, they have to behave professionally. It isn’t about creativity it is about application and giving your body the best possible fuel, training so you are ready and fit to go.

I am not quoting anything, I am providing a summary of my interpretation of what you have said.

I agree about fitness, and the fact that one size doesn’t fit all. I fully respect both McCall and Grayson assessment of players, and to be quite honest if he can’t perform in training for McCall we have a problem, he used all his man management skills to get the best out of players, and guess what he didn’t pick him either.

I like Jordon Gibson the brief glimpses I have had of him, and I too was wondering why he hadn’t played more. Now I know, he needs some very good professional advice. None better that Stephen Warnock, if he does nothing else, he needs to sit down and have a chat with him. If you want to play and show off your skills on match days, you need to turn up in training and play to impress the manager.

Thought Grayson showed the kind of character we need is hauling that shite off after putting him on for Bruenker.
Poleon should wear a balaclava because he's stealing a wage at City.

Boring question and not my decision.

Is Steve Gerrard linked with the Rangers job? No Rangers fan would of picked him.

So, to answer your question. I don't know.

A manager that players attacking football, play exciting football, young and can work with the owners.

Last season their wage bill, including non playing staff, was £3.2m, down from £3.4m the season before.

Fleetwood’s was £5.3m with 66(???) players on their books. Bolton £12.6m. Scunthorpe about £5.5m.
At the bottom of the league Cov spent £4.0m.

With income from the EFL at about £1.5m say, and 10000 STs at £170, that’s £3.2m coming in, plus say sponsorship and sundry income, TV, shop etc pushing us up to £4m.

Take out the lease, pension costs, NI, business rates, £250k on the pitch, agents fees that leaves say £3m to run the club including non playing staff. Last year you needed £5m or more to get top 6, Shrewsbury £3.5m this season.

Rupp and Rahic need to find at least a million or more like £2m to find a top six push.

Well he won't be getting that.

What's all this about the training ground also?
