    You say Winston to go next but today his statue was defaced with ''was a racist''. I don't care what anyone says it's a compete outrage and shows the direction our country is heading. All of this in a middle of a pandemic, if you agree with how they are protesting I'm sorry but you're a total idiot.

    I understand and appreciate your point, but it’s very ‘rules are rules’ against a victimless crime, which is tricky to be consistent with. If this catalyses other, more consequential behaviour, then I’ll of course agree.

    Efforts to remove the statue through civilised discourse have been attempted for decades, with no outcome. It’s easier to just leave it where it is. This was more or less inevitable at some point in the future. Just as it has happened in other countries, with widespread global approval.

    The last time I went on one of his buses was Bolton away 1984 where we clinched the title.

    The driver took us to Blackburn first thinking thats where we were playing.

    Got to Burnden Park at literally 2.58.

    Then maybe theres the answer. Democracy in action. You dont always get what you want. I dont have a strong view about the statue itself - I'd never heard of the fella until this story, but the principle is a more important one. I dont believe that it's necessarily a victimless crime - I think we're seeing behaviours and trends that need addressing because there'll be more and more severe consequences

    Never had that honour but had heard about them.

    I recall Patsy trying to copy City Gent by producing a rival fan mag around the same time and well it was an interesting read. I don't think whoever was the editor could read or write though.

    Without wishing to go off towards too much of a tangent, I think anyone with any experience of the Bradford metropolitan area should know that local authority decision making need not necessarily be the most democratic of procedures.

    I agree - should this result in more concerning behaviour then we absolutely should be quick to condemn it.

    I do think though that if a Churchill statue came down, there would be an extremely ugly explosion of division within the country.

    What happened to George Floyd was clearly wrong and it should be dealt with through the US courts. And if people do not believe their government and law enforcement agencies are acting in a fair and equal way, of course they should have the right to protest. There should be no place for racism or any other type of hatred/discrimination in today's society. I stand with all those fighting for a fair and just society.

    HOWEVER: In the current situation, with this pandemic, there absolutely should be no mass gatherings.

    THEREFORE: I condemn these protest gatherings and marches, just as I condemn all those mass gatherings, over the last couple of weeks, at holiday resorts and beauty spots. I also condemn all those others who have flouted the rules (including Dominic Cummings and various other MPs of various political parties).

    We have been FAILED by a weak government (and, before anyone accuses me of political bias, I see no better alternative from the likes of Labour, Liberals, Greens etc.).
