Not if Lineker had signed a contract with the BBC with regards his political comments not the first time, and that looks to be the case, a pathetic comment that the British government could be classed in the same category as Nazi Germany in the 30s the mans a clown.

The BBC don't get to dictate to freelancers what they can and can't think, and freedom of speech is pivotal regardless of if someone is left or right leaning.
Tim Davie has dropped an absolute bollock here and humiliated himself and the BBC.
Hughes and the lads will give interviews to all other relevant outlets, so there's no issue to be had with them refusing to speak with Radio Leeds.Get Rid Of It, Hugh Jarse and Frank Castle like this. -

Hughes & players refuse to speak to BBC in support of Gary Lineker. Pity as I look forward to hearing their views.

The art of debate needs reviving! It seems you cannot have a different point of view without somebody using insulting language to a fellow poster.

Although football is a powerful medium, politics should be left out of sport, all sport, full stop.
I fully support freedom of speech, but if you want to discuss this subject, whilst in the public eye become a politicion, not a well paid sports presenter. If the bbc have a neutrality stance, then as an employee of that company, you can not continue to be paid whilst going against your employer.meelin, Onside and Manningham bantam like this. -

He refused.
So the BBC pulled him off MOTD, then everyone else did the same in solidarity. You would do the same for your friends.
If Alan sugar can call corbyn a nazi on twitter why cant Gary say that the policy is akin to 1930s germany? Why is andrew neil allowed his own political opinions even though at the time he was a political journalist for the BBC?

It always amazes me , that its seems to be mostly youngish males getting off these boats.Especially when they arrive from France, a safe country , more than twice our area with a smaller population. -
I have genuine sympathy for people fleeing war and oppression. no matter where they are from. i have none for those just trying to work a ticket and the people smugglers, if ever caught , should get the most severe punishment available to the law.Onside, Bronco and Manningham bantam like this. -
Was it 50,000 refugees in the past 12 months. 10 years at those levels and we have to build a new city the size of Bradford.
We have housing shortages as it is , the NHs has massive waiting lists, you got a dentist. the schools have class sizes with such numbers the teachers can not give proper education, people are using food banks in greater numbers than ever.
I have no problems with genuine refugee's , but at some point we have to start to solve the issues in this country, of which there are many, and to say tax the rich, is not the answer, as we all know ,they will find ways to shield their wealth, tax havens.
Personally i have not spoken to any refugee's, not sure what relevance that has. I did assist a gentlemen who had out stayed his visa and when he was given permission to stay, i employed him. Unfortunately his attitude once he was legal was shocking. he had more unauthorised time off and sick leave , than my other employees put together, hence he is now unemployed and claimed benefits since the 2 years i ended his employment, so maybe my judgement on this is a little different to yours, but don't make assumptions about my intentions. We are all mostly imigrants to this land. my grandparents from southern Ireland my wife's from Italy.meelin, Sergio Pinto III and Onside like this. -
