Will Jamie Raynor be allowed into the press briefing if Lineker is not given his £1.9 million a year job back? How far are Hughes/Sparks going to go with this?

I do wonder if Sparks knew about and condoned this. I might be wrong but to me its smacks a bit of Premier League Old Boys Club.

The BBC have a Chairman who is a Political party donor and helped a major Politician gain a huge loan. If the BBC has a neutrality stance, should they have been appointed to the BBC job, by a Political party?
The BBC Director General has apparently been a candidate for a Political Party. Again they have a Political history and can use their influence to further their Political World View!
Clear the BBC of Senior Management who have clear political histories and I guess subtle (and sometimes not so) agenda’s.

Watching the BBC I certainly haven’t noticed any right wing bias. But they have handled this disastrously

Lineker is a virtue signalling toss pot. His remaining credibility evaporated when he sold his soul and turned his back on his 'morals and ethics' to work over in Qatar for £££. Gary Neville is another hypocrite.

    It doesnt wash with me.

The same corporation that gave the ISIS bride a podcast in hope she would regain her citizenship.

    Really right wing.

As well just to add, the man has housed two refugees in his own home as well. Not really virtue signalling. Genuinely not sure what he's done to deserve this level of hate.

its weird how people hate him so much for doing nothing, just being a bloke who cares about something.

I usually watch it either way but a quicker, sleeker highlights package without the "analysis" after every game would definitely appeal to me as I usually just fast forward through it all anyway.

The way the BBC have handled this is a complete disaster.

36 Tory MPs wrote to the BBC over this, you know those paragons of free speech who claim to hate cancel culture such as Lee Anderson, and Brendan Clarke-Smith (who claimed footballers kneeling was on par with giving Nazi salutes but then throws his dummy out when someone else makes a link to 1930s Germany).

Due to that the BBC saw to take action and claim that it was agreed with Gary Lineker. Gary then said he didn't agree to it and that it was placed upon him so all his collegues stood down and it's snowballed since.

The second reading of this bill is today and it will be torn apart because it is unlawful. People will claim that the Tories are fighting the good fight but we know what happens when unlawful bills are passed. £140m is handed to Rwanda for absolutely nothing. France take £110m of our money and pretend they are stopping our boats knowing it's not their issue once the boat hits the water.

This is what gesture politics gets you. No substance and money thrown at things for no return, all for a culture war narrative.

If Gary had said it's about time we stopped the boats the government with probably put that in their election flyers.

The Director General of the BBC has apologised and Gary Lineker will be back on air for the FA Cup this weekend.

That's going to boil some piss based on some comments.

Yeah down with free speech and up with cancel culture for a person who has not been seen to to breach any rules because he is a freelancer at the BBC so the same rules to Andrew Neil apply to him.

Either way refusing to stand firm having made a decision will be the beginning of the end for the BBC. They are literally saying we cannot hold the line on impartiality. If that is case then what is the point of the BBC, we don’t need a national broadcaster.

Any sense of impartiality was lost when the BBC Chairman was selected on the basis of helping Boris Johnson get an £800k loan, having previously donated £400k to the Tory party.

It's not been impartial for years and all this has done is shown many BBC staff have been expressing their political opinion over the years, but based on what they said and who they attacked (Corbyn for example) they were simply overlooked.
