Sounds easy.
The lad is obviously babbing himself at the prospect of returning to a hostile Valley Parade where fans aren't happy with the football on offer despite being right in contention for the autos.
Doyle knows Bowyer's football doesn't suit him, he knows the fans aren't happy about getting promoted 'the wrong way', and he knows how much abuse he got last time he was at City.
He had a wonderful honeymoon at Swindon, but he isn't a Swindon player - he's a Bradford City player, and we might just be about to bring him back to his previous misery.
I'm critical of Doyle, and remain so - but I will be the first to welcome him back if he does indeed return.
The idea of returning with the expectation of him scoring regularly in a much less creative side has to be frightening - but I'd like to see zero criticism of Doyle from the stands for the remaining five months of the season.

Make the call this afternoon. Bring him home. Give the season ticket campaign a boost - “the top scorer in Europe is back etc”, fire us to promotion, and bring all this speculation and drama to an end. Scores a hat-trick at Crawley and we all move forward.

I read instead of post on here now because of muppets like you just repeating themselves not worth debating.
I’ve got nothing to hide, he was poor for us last season, there could be many factors due to his poor form. But I was happy for him to be shipped out, I’m also happy for him to be back as his form is undeniable this season, it is okay to change your mind on a player, A O’Connor has proven that.Stop hovering to collapse... I will get on any player's back and give them stick, if they deserve it. Doyle got a lot of unfair criticism during and at the end of last season. As he was part of an unfit, poorly performing squad he was roped in with most of the other players for the situation we were in.
It was said he missed loads of chances. All goalscorers missed chances but having seen most of last season's games I didn't remember him missing many, at the end of day we didn't exactly create that many.
He was described as lazy. The Doyle I remember from last season had to do too much work, having to come deep looking for the ball because his service from an underperforming squad was poor, even allowing for this he hit double figures.
While at Swindon he has scored 23 goals at the halfway stage of the season. The last time he had anything like this scoring rate was When he was on loan at Oldham when he hit 17 in 33/34 appearances. Both spells under Richie Wellens. So one guy certainly knows how to use him.
If we do recall him I hope that we make him feel welcome and get the best out of him.Inspector, Welshbantam, Matnab and 3 others like this. -
Whilst I don’t want him back as I believe it won’t work, I can’t see how the club cannot recall him
Imagine the uproar, he stays and fires Swindon to promotion and we miss out all together, the onslaught of criticism would be deafening and I’m not sure the club would want or need to take such a risk.RCarol, Chad, WilsdenBantam and 3 others like this. -

We play 442, keep it simple. Or a slight variation coming off the bench if needed. Under no circumstances should we playing Doyle or Vaughan up front on their own. If we require backs to the wall defending then it has to be Donaldson.

6 months to sort a deal out. Didn't! Move on!
Really think we're going to play games now?
I'm not convinced Doyle wanted to sign for Swindon for a length of time. If he's getting his wages and playing then he will be happy.
Wellens knows that replacing a 23 goal man is tough. Swindon Town fans that soft and foolish? They should be mad at the Swindon board and not fall for these words.
He needs to move on and grow up!
Swindon owe it to their fans to concentrate on getting a replacement not talk nonsense about something they had and let go.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Chad, bantamdave41, Mitchelldownie and 3 others like this. -
I think our manager needs to come out, give Doyle a ringing endorsement and say he’s going nowhere. He can’t hide behind some confidentiality clause for this one. And Wellens is discussing it openly so we should openly tell him to jog off.

I think, for the first time since they got all that dosh for Ian 'Sticky' Ormondroyd, Bower and Rhodes have played a blinder here
Doyle going was best for all parties and he simply went away and got confidence. Swindon, should have tried to includes some kind of better deal that favoured them this month - but probably didn't because they had doubts
Doyle goes there and suddenly rediscovers his 2015 form and we simply say - thanks for getting his confidence back we'll have him now
We're then the team who should benefit from this in the vital second half of the season.
No wonder Wellens is wittering on!!Inspector, Silverbantam, Onside and 3 others like this. -
