Tired of hearing about Swindon’s wishes, wage contributions and finances.

We’re arguing over a few grand, yet promotion is staring at us in the face.

We own the players registration and inserted the recall clause in the deal. It’s time for the club to exert their authority and bring him back.

Top scorer in Europe can be brought into the side at minimal cost. We might have to take over their contribution to his wages but the board need to make the finances work and stop pussyfooting about.

A player in his form would cost £500k-£750k in January IMO and we can have him back for a fraction of that. It makes sense when we get it all back and more if/when we go up.

Make a statement to the league and our fans. Go win this awful league.

It's been a fun few months hasn't it watching all this unfold and still anticipate a few more twists. I personally think he will stay with you guys now until the end of the season with about 200 rumours between now and then.

If he scores a few goals at Swindon so be it.

It never worked here and he wasn’t gonna get in ahead of Vaughan anyway.

Bit rough lumping McBurnie in as a shite forward Steve, a not ready for it at the time forward but not shite.

 

He wouldn’t have done anything today, can’t blame people for not wanting him back. He won’t do what he’s doing at Swindon here, Vaughan’s a better player and he’s struggling.

That said I’d bring him back just because they’re rivals in the same league, no other reason.

 

I am a fan who doesnt believe we deserve to be Champions just because we are supposedly the biggest club in this league.

We have to earn the right to be Champions.

 

Imagine if we were trying to sign Doyle from Swindon as a new player. Leagues twos highest goal scorer, form of his life, taking best striker from a rival...

Money, formations, style, history etc would not even be up for discussion. Non factors.

 

Baton now over to Bowyer, management team and players to provide Doyle (and our other forwards) the service they need to score goals.

Doyle has proved to some who doubted him after last season, with an element of reasoning, that when used properly he’s a quality player at this level. His current form is no fluke IMO. Absolutely essential we step up and utilise our assets in the right way. I feel Doyle needs to prove himself to us that he is dedicated to the club and show the quality and passion that we’ve seen him demonstrate at Swindon. Equally, and perhaps more importantly, we as supporters need to prove ourselves to him, that he has our full support.

Agree with others, Donaldson plays a huge role in support to Doyle and Vaughan. His work rate and contribution was massively under appreciated by many on here.

As well as McCartan, we have a front four as good as many clubs in league one - we now have start using them properly!

 

I cannot buy into this theory we’ve brought him back in order to force Swindon to give us a better deal. The damage to public relations would be considerable if that were the case. There is now a renewed air of optimism about the club and its supporters. But I agree there had been far too much secrecy about the whole thing. I’ve never known all this business about confidentiality apply so much before. What was wrong with saying the lad’s doing well, we’re bringing back, we’d be daft not to, end of. Ninety percent of loan deals have a break clause to protect all parties. It was hardly a secret.

 

Swindon are 9 points ahead of us at the top of the table. The only one looking desperate is you mate.

He's had many opportunities to show the fans what he could do.

Excuses of "Lone Striker" and "Playing out of Position" doesn't hide the fact that his ball control was appauling, and that he never got to head the ball first when it was coming to him.

Top scorer last season with 11 goals. How many from penalties?

Awful awful player. He is absolutlely no loss to this squad.

Vaughan and Donaldson both produced performances yesterday that exceeded anything Doyle did in over a year here.

I’m not arsed how he does now. I’m much more concerned with how we use the money to strengthen our own side

 

He simply has to be brought back in January. Even if it's just to derail Swindon

 

You do realise that dropping Vaughan for Doyle but playing exactly the same system will result in having even less of a threat upfront front don't you?

The problem isn't Vaughan, just as it wasn't Doyle. The problem is the way we're using whichever striker we play.

TBF, he did say that he wishes us well and that he still wants us to get promoted. I don’t think he’s been disrespectful at all. The club wanted him gone and off the wage budget. He left. Just because he’s shown his value in a team that play to his strengths, doesn’t mean that should change.

Of course he’s going to want to stay. Fans love him. The management play to his strengths and he is high on confidence. It’s not disrespectful to say he hopes to stay at his loanee club

 

Sending Oteh and Palmer back (now Reeves is fully fit he's surplus imo) plus keeping Patrick on loan at Wrexham would surely cover Swindons wage contribution for Doyle?

Isn't it a complete no brainer? If not then I'm seriously struggling to see why not.

If, however, we could get a decent fee for Doyle then I might change my mindset but for him to stay on loan just makes no sense whatsoever.
