I think you will find a good replacement because you have good football men at the club but Doyle will be hard to replace.

Bowyer never wanted Doyle to leave and that's the key factor here I feel plus I don't even think our fans understand how vital it is we go back up and having the leading goal scorer in the league currently will help.

If you lose Doyle and Yates then I believe you won't finish top but will have a chance to finish 3- 7.

Interesting times either way.

Just did a quick search and there is a story in the Cheshire press with quotes from Crewe manager David Artell. They face Swindon on Saturday so he was at the County Ground scouting them. He reckons one of the City directors turned around and said to him "he's coming back to us on Tuesday so you'll be alright".

Who knows whether he was joking or not......

The story went out on Cheshire Live 30 mins ago.

It is only a rumour and as I say under the terms of the loan agreement apparently if we wanted to recall him it had to be this week. It doesn’t mean there aren’t negotiations for another separate deal

Hopefully this leak of sorts speeds up an announcement. It's no good for anyone if it continues to drag on for another day or so.

 

But they haven't announced it, and might not.

I still cannot see him returning after the abuse he received and how can he show his face at VP again after his recent comments on City. I think he will return on paper only, certainly not physically, this is just a paperwork exercise to save City face and deprive Swindon a few games with him.

I get those who perhaps haven't forgiven Doyle for last season - but we need to move on. One of my worries about him coming back is that I sense if he didn't score for three matches, he would get absolutely steam-rollered by some

He would. I was speaking to a non City fan in the summer and his first question, after watching a few late games last year, was “whats the score there?”. He couldn't believe the flak he was getting.

There is a stubborn element who will want him to fail to support their old view of him and also that of Bowyer being a ‘negative/dull’ etc manager.

I hope he returns and shuts them all up
