Not just Brexit Dave. It's clearly a big factor. But I've knocked on doors in trad Labour voting areas and many people said they couldn't vote for Labour with Corbyn as leader.

All I will say is well done and if this exit poll is correct it shows that there is a mandate for brexit for once in 3 years. Go ahead and get on with it guys and this is from a hardline lib dem voting remainer. Get on with brexit and stop blaming remainers its all in your court now. If it goes badly dont try to sugar coat the crap like you have done so far. Own it and deliver the golden uplands that is brexit.

Democracy is the big winner, The Politicians ask the nation a question promising to enact the result, The Politicians of some parties then do everything they can to block that result being enacted, The public then remove those politicians that blocked enacting that democratic vote, DEMOCRACY IN ACTION,

In 1985, Neil Kinnock took a stand against the party inside the party known as Militant.
Today that party inside the party is Momentum and they need kicking out like Alan Johnson was speaking up for.
If they stick a Long-Bailey, Burgon, Thornberry, etc as leader they are just getting Corbyn Mk2 and Momentum will continue to run the show.
Corbyn should have resigned straight away and an interim leader should have been appointed, the fact he stays on says to me they are trying to position one of the above into the job to continue with this failed experiment.
Everyone can see this, except the inner circle who are now deluding themselves thinking they had popular polices and that they won the argument. You see people like Burgon on TV and you know they haven't learnt anything from Thursday.
If Boris moves to the left on the NHS and to the right on crime and security he could end up holding that red wall for years to come.River_City_Bantam, trevor, Bronco and 1 other person like this. -

Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott. Has there ever been such a frightening prospect in British politics than the thought of this trio running our country?
I hope the people tempted to vote Labour come to their senses and resist.
Trump is 100% correct in saying we would be in a bad dark place if this Marxist trio seize powerRCarol, Berkshire-bantam and Tony Wilkinson like this. -

I have always voted Conservative since Maggie charmed me just after I became of age, voting wise. I had seen the country in ruins under Callaghan, after I left school ion 1976, and I was determined to vote for anyone that could unseat the Labour puppets orchestrated by the unions.
Tony Blair has been the only Labour leader to offer genuine hope to the country in my lifetime, but Bush had too much influence over him in the end, culminating in the illegal invasion of Iraq, based on too many lies and spin by Alistair Campbell. The tragic death in 2003 of Dr David Kelly still doesn't sit right with me.
Fast forward to today, and the Conservatives have no credible opposition. Labour with their 3 pronged Marxist attack, or a Lib Dem party who will rip up the wishes of the majority that voted in the referendum, without so much as a blink of an eye, never mind debating the merits of doing so.
I would like to see a Conservative pact with the Brexit party and storm to victory, and let Boris get on with running the country, and Farage assisting in finally getting us out of the EURCarol, Brackenrigg and Tony Wilkinson like this. -

Blair was essentially a tory in labour clothing. Had some good ideas like investing in schools and hospitals, unfortunately we will still be paying for it for years to come. The Iraq war showed his true colours though, i guess when they find the 'weapons of mass destruction' they'll find Sheargar and Lord Lucan as well. And Dr Kelly was collateral damage. But give the bloke credit, he plays the game well, a fortune going upwards of £100 million testament to a man who knows how to play the system. A mini Donald Trump if you like.
As for the Lib Dems, they are as relevant to politics as Michael Collins was to football league management and should be consigned to the wheely bin.RCarol, Tony Wilkinson and Idlebantam like this. -

They try to make themselves appear better by making everyone else appear worse instead of focusing on actually improving themselves.

There’s simply no way of becoming a billionaire without rank exploitation of some kind or another. You can be the hardest working person on this planet and billionaires are taking the piss out of you. Billionaires are not the ones creating jobs. Why would they care about somebody working for them other than as a unit of labour? Why would they reward anybody else’s endeavour? That’s not how you acquire a billion quid.Hoochy-Min, Hugh Jarse and Offcomedun like this. -

As the post preceding mine said, Phil Hammond made a very similar gaff, but that’s not mentioned every time his name is brought up. For context, she received HALF of all abuse aimed at female MPs in 2017. It’s not exactly like we’re short of evidence here.
For balance, the same is true of James Cleverly of the Tory party. When they have a difficult time, people regard them as stupid. When other politicians have a difficult time, we simply indulge them as having argued in bad faith. These politicians aren’t above criticism, but the level of criticism they receive is beyond proportional and of a different nature.Craven Cottager, Offcomedun and Hoochy-Min like this. -
Abbott gets the stick because of all the public gaffes she makes, nothing to do with racism!
