I wouldn't have voted Labour if I didn't have more political allegiances with Corbyn than Boris Johnson. Here's the thing though, I'm not arguing that Corbyn hasn't done/said some ridiculous and questionable things. I'm also not arguing that some of his policies weren't wishful thinking and that he didn't play a part in his parties downfall. I'm talking about the bias in the media where the misleading information on him was far more damaging than anything reported on Boris Johnson. Some of the perceptions that people have on him, which have no doubt been fuelled by the press, are simply absurd. If you were born yesterday you'd probably think Adolf Hitler was running for PM.

Nope, self employed consultant. I do use freelancers but they are all remainers so have no problem using them again.

This is a polical thread where we discuss politics. If you visit a cooking forum and somehow manage to find a thread dedicated to Bradford City under the relevant sub forum then I'm sure no one on there will have any problem with you posting Bradford City related content. It's what it would be for.

I do not remember the TV or Newspapers saying anything that was not true or misleading regarding Corbyns past associations or political leanings, Perhaps you can tell us the comments the media made that were untruthful ?

BTW the BBC continually allowed guests and reporters to call Boris a Misogynist womanising lier when reporting of him so not one way at all,

Holding protests is all very well if you are trying to persuade somebody to implement changes. But the fact is, on this occasion, everybody entitled to vote had the choice and chance to reject Tory rule, but the majority voted for Tory rule, and there isnt anything they can do about it now. So, the protesters might be part of the minority that didnt like the outcome, but accept it they must

What do you mean fair enough? If i employ people or not i could sack them. Thats the tory way, you want that!! Workers rights aint worth a crap anymore so dont go quizzing remainers on what they intend to do with their employees.

You've described the whole situation perfectly there Dave, the left are very sore and are not prepared to give Boris a chance ( Boris despite his faults is an angel compared to he who I can't bring myself to mention)
We have had the spectre of a marxist government removed for at least 5 years and we should all embrace that......

I think you ask a good question. One view on it could be: The EU allowed a lot of jobs to move to Eastern Europe where production is ultimately cheaper. The issue for the north is we're decades behind where we should be. There isn't enough "service" jobs and its ultimately cheaper to make things abroad that used to be made here. If you're a large multinational corp. I struggle to see why you would invest serious money anywhere north of the Watford gap. If you are investing that money its mainly for financial services/IT/AI etc. As someone who is a huge advocate of Bradford, the city is a dump. Whether you agree with it or not some people see the EU as one of the reasons why the north has declined in the way it has. Again, they could certainly be wrong but that's a different argument.

For the vast swathes of blue-collar Bradfordians what has/will really change once we've left? Same with a Tory government as opposed to Labor. The majority of the north has been left behind. The city is a dump and it's more than likely it will remain a dump.

You're over reacting, there were about 4 posts where I cracked a joke about asking a Bradford City question... It's not exactly hounding is it? For what's it's worth there's a difference between calling people scum and asking a football question.

See you next Tuesday.. want to explain or are you being vile AGAIN?

I'm gonna be honest i don't think any 'coherent explanation' will change your mind regardless of how its made up. The real truth in all this is no one knows how it will turn out. It could well turn out be a disaster but that all depends how Johnson and his cabinet go about implementing it. I don't think there is a remain voter out there who would ever admit it did benefit the country even if it did because like any discussion, facts and figures can be interpreted differently to suit a political agenda.

You seem a very angry man. Perhaps I could recommend not moving to another democratic country, it might save you having to move again once another result comes in that you don't like.

Because in using the term 'fair enough' he is saying that it is acceptable to him that because i am self employed its ok that i leave. If on the other hand I had to sack employees then what would not be acceptable.

My point therefore is that I dont have to justify myself to anyone especially not in the right wing society we have just voted for. I can do what I want with my business and I wont take lectures from torys who voted for the very thing we are discussing.

In truth this country served its purpose as a manufacturing base decades ago and has been in terminal decline ever since. All down to the rest of the world progressing, and as you allude to, businesses taking advantage of new untapped cheaper sources of labour. Most of the traditional cities and towns that grew on the back of the industrial revolution have no USP any more, all of these areas developed on the back of manufacturing and the associated industries used to service these bases.

Yeah im furious. Im a high rate tax payer with no representation. Disenfranchised, politically homeless and patriotic. When that description of a person was last used we were told to pay attention or face the consequences. I suggest you do the same.

Your reading way too much into things. No one is lecturing you, more likely being rather curt with due to your replies over the months. You don't have to justify your actions or business decisions to anyone, i'm not sure anyone really cares to be fair.
