And yet the "English" Mark Lawn had his car keyed whilst chairman.

I wonder if it was a rogue German fan who was racist?

Come on fella, the racism angle is absolute nonsense and we both know it. If we're successful they could be little green Martians for all anyone would care.

From what I remember it was basically that the EFL vote for it (albeit at a detriment to previous individual arrangements!!) or that the PL would not pass any TV money down to the EFL long term. It has basically allowed the PL to take youngsters on a pittance from other clubs and stockpile them...I've had scouts from Man City, Man Utd, Blackburn, Sheff Utd looking at U5s / U6s....Huddersfield sacked their Academy because they couldn't see value in it...

That's absolutely the correct path that English football should take.

The problem is that it would only benefit the English national teams and those sides not currently in the PL and we all know that those combined hold very little sway when discussing the future of the game.

I can't believe the Daily Mail have made a whole article about that single quote. Must be a slow news day.

Feeder teams haven’t helped any of the clubs in rugby league, if anything it’s hindered them when the parent club suddenly recalls a starting player.

I’m by no means an Edin hater and I’m more then willing to give him time to implement his methods, I think he’s done some very positive things, club shop, pitch and getting shut of some dead wood but this is one stupid idea

I'm struggling on the whole feeder team by relationship to be honest does this mean we'd essentially be man city b under a different name?

Would we have their players exclusively on loan players in through the door? Do we get young players on perm deals to develop for them then are only able to sell them to the prem club they came from? Who holds the power in the relationship? How would we ever get to progress if we don't have control over who plays for us and can't keep the better players?

It would take some selling to me because frankly I wouldn't pay a tenner to watch us play an u23 team in the tin pot cup and certainly wouldn't shell out on a season ticket to watch being one of those teams.

Might as well go support Man U then. No chance of progression then what’s the point?

The imbalance won’t get better. In time I t will get worse. The elite clubs of Europe want a super league and all the finance that goes with it. The champions league was a fudge several years ago to prevent that happening.
When you have nation states and mega rich people and companies pumping billions into clubs then clubs from below the top 6 in the PL and from the top 2 of other leagues stand very little chance. It’s about balance sheets and greed. Football is no longer the working mans game and hasn’t been for some time in the PL.

like the article elludes to, it would need to be signed off by the football league and football league chairmen - never going to happen so don’t go worrying about it. it’s a nothing story.

Let's get this thread back on topic if there's anything else to say.

If you want to discuss progress on Brexit, there's a separate thread in the General Chat forum called would you believe 'Brexit'!

    Ta :)

Papers like Daily Mail are well known for sensationalist headlines, Myself & others would rather hear what Edin has to say. Don’t believe all you read in the papers.

Sadly there are some City fans so desperate to see Edin fail that they love it when we lose and struggle. Most likely the same ones who wanted Parky sacked when we had bad form. Plus some who jump on the band

Of course to make money in football you need to be successful, Our owners methods are different but it’s their call to get it right. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion that's fully understandable and acceptable. Some of our fans just look for reasons to moan or criticise our club. Some think they know it all but in reality know far from that.

This is again upsetting as the majority of our fans are the best in the way we show our support and passion. If things do not change soon and our recent decline continues then of course I'd rally for changes. But nothing will ever be an instant fix. Been a City fan has its highs and lows it's a emotional ride. However a fan is a fan for life through the good or the strife.

When would you accept that Edin's not getting it right?
