Become a feeder club and you would be lucky to get 3k through the gate. Just goes to prove if Edin is thinking that way he really doesn't have any ambition what so ever.

I am totally against this idea of a feeder club. Why should we sacrifice on the alter of greed our proud heritage? The problem is the PL, that is what it is making it so difficult for clubs to gain promotion. Take away competition and I am gone, what is the point? It is the PL that needs reforming, if they want to develop players they need to relinquish a percentage of their money to the lower leagues, so that proper competition can take place, and not the usual crumbs they swipe off the table!

I have no idea; there needs to be appropriate research that looks at the financial relationship between the PL and EFL how it is working now, and what is needed going forward.

EFL currently receive £100 Mill pr season from the PL, how they distribute it is down to the EFL.

Stop premiership clubs hoarding 40 or 50 players! That would be a start.

They should be restricted in numbers and operate on a one in one out type system, that way younger players would be free to be picked up by lower league clubs.

As I said, appropriate research into the financial relationship between the EFL needs to be conducted. Of course it maybe that how the money is distributed may come under the spotlight! On initial looking a 100 million is nowhere near enough, just over a million for each club. How much does the premier league actually receive. Most of money is coming from TV rights, which comes from the 92 club’s fans?

When I was on our Board, I am sure it has not changed in the last two years, the distribution was 80/12/8 in percentage terms from Championship/L1/L2 which is a big imbalance.
The proportions of the distribution were the idea of and pushed through by non other than Geoffrey Richmond who, at the time was convinced BCFC would never be lower than Championship level so in many ways he was looking after his own Club. Sadly to be wrong.
I will stand corrected if anyone knows better but it was a regular subject of soreness in my seven years on the Board.

It's madness. If that hoarding were prevented, you'd have:

More players of better quality getting first team football in all league's. The standard would improve, driving even more development.
The national side would improve as a result.
Premier League sides could buy players that have more football and 'life' experience. They'd be more likely to make an impact as they'd be signed at a time when they were actually ready to play.
The associated transfer fees would help provide extra revenue through the lower leagues.

There's benefit to be had all around.

Even disregarding the article it’s looking more like Rahic wants to turn us into a football factory. The ego of the big clubs has no bounds. A European super league will probably happen in the future wth no thoughts to the Newcastle’s and Villa’s of this world. The idea of the CL Final being played outside Europe and the plan to play a La Liga game in the States. The money men will never have enough and don’t give a damn about the rest of us. Rahic wants to get on the gravy train. He has no connection or affection for our club. We are more customers than fans. He has no custodian agenda to protect or honour our history or tradition. He’s come to make money and he’s not on his own. If the PL cared they would pump real money down into the leagues. They don’t care. Things will change but if we ever became a feeder ‘B’ Club, they’d be looking for a whole new audience but if it made them more money do we think they’d care?

I never considered racism once in all that, Steve - In fact our current 'team' would struggle to attract more than two bob between 'em !! ....... My main issue is with what it didn't say about our current running of the club, we fans love. :(

The fella is living in cloud cuckoo land , if the fans that go now and again, buy a season ticket be cause it's cheap, got a wind of our club becoming a so called feeder club which more or less means absolutely no ambition they would be off they have no infinity with city...crowds would drop to 2 or 3 thousand, these 2 need to leave the building A.S.A.P

I strangely recall that - and I was no big fan of it, as it would take City away from our deep seeded roots, not to mention any other 'small time' Club. As you say, a big imbalance. :(
The world of Politics (per se) should not enter the world of sport - Yet when certain bodies endorse a system of have and have not - Then what can be done ??

    .[/QUOTE] The
feeder club is the wrong word having an agreement with a club to take first pick of players is probably better. For example I remember Carlisle being in the old first division before the Premiership days and they topped the league for a while. Now even with very good management they would have very little chance of ever getting into the championship ever mind the Premiership They could have an arrangement with Newcastle to have first pick of the players being sent out on loan and that lessons some of the inequities for teams like that.

THe thing is he never said he wanted City to become a feeder club. He said it was something the league should look at when looking at loans and conditions attached to them.

Aye - I remember, Park .................. Wasn't it Citys recently transferred Les O'Neil who scored their first Div 1 goal ? ;)
