December: Things Could Look Better Before The Window

Very biblical.

 

Orient only need 3 points in the next 3 to match what Forest Green had after 23 games last season and they had a collapse near the end but still won the title. It's going to take something majorly bad to happen to Orient to miss out on top 3, they'd probably have to fail to get 30 points in the last 26 games to not get top 3. They are probably out of reach of us already, even if they got 30 points between now and the end of the season we'd need 45 points from 26 games to catch them which is a lot

 

I concur that Orient will probably go up, but other teams around us have yet to have a wobble, which is the point I was trying to make and that could help us.

 

Our 'wobbles' tend to go on for 4 or 5 seasons ... !!

 

its not a wobble , it is a european sunami. I am so delighted we were sold to people who had the ability and finance to take us forward.

 

Just a shame they didn't invest in the team that Stuart took us to Wembley with, just as Millwall had done the previous season when they were beaten at Wembley by Barnsley, not suggesting we would be were Millwall are now but who knows Andy ?

 

Hindsight is a wonderful thing Dave, same could be said with Richmond or Tordoff and Stafford. Proper management in those instances, who knows where we might have been.

 

Leyton Orient a massive 20 points Infront of Salford down in ninth.
We are going to have to go some to catch them in the new year.
The titles theirs to lose and of course we play them on the last Saturday of the regular season at Valley Parade.
This December has been a right off football wise roll,on the New Year and a few new additions to the squad and hopefully a change in form

 

I watch todays game and although Sutton put up a dogged display it was only a matter of time before Orient scored, having said that a Sutton defender made a shocking attempt to clear the ball sending it straight to Smith who picked his spot the second was an O/G Orient are certainly looking Championship material at the moment.

 

Do they get a 'double' promotion then Dave? Doesn't seem fair....

They do stand out from every other team Dave, Wellens has assembled a very capable squad and got them playing to its potential. Certain;y battered us.

 

Wellens doing just what he did at Swindon tbf. The bloke is talented.

 

It's a strange one for sure he did well at Swindon but only lasted 5 months at Salford and only lasted 199 days at Doncaster, it was strongly rumoured he was in the frame at Valley Parade, maybe he feels more comfortable darn south.

 

Think its just coincidences Broncs. He’s a Manchester lad.

Salford is a bit of a poisoned chalice. Did expect him to do better at Doncaster though, I admit

 

So now we have two of those four.

How many points is a good return?

Carlisle's last four games are 3 draws and a win.

Since Harrogate beat us, in four league games they've had two wins, one draw and one loss. Hardly the form of a team in 20th. Plus 10 goals in three of those games (they didn't score in the loss to Orient)

No easy games. We need to start on the front foot and we need to score more than once and judging by today's T&A article the manager is telling them that more of them need to score.
