Think of it from his perspective. Two must win games, losing both and he stays on the bench for both. I'd know there and then that the managers either didn't rate me or know how to use me. More fool Trueman for being surprised he wants out.

There's another player with an attitude problem. They can be spotted so easily! ;)

I still find it strange that T&S weren't prepared to play Cook and Rowe together, even when we were chasing games. There's no doubt the lad could finish, given half a chance. Like most others, I ask myself "Why did we sign him?"

Doesn't matter how you paint it this season has been a disaster.

I don't understand that either. Those who accuse him of having a poor attitude haven't expalined why they believe that's the case or shown anybody else their evidence. The nearest we have is from the club's unofficial spokesman that on one occasion Rowe had his hands on his hips.

On thing that perplexes me is that he does score goals and we've been in dire need of them recently when he has been on the bench. Instead T&S on one occasion moved Paudie into a striker's role and whatever Paudie's qualities, he is as likely to score a goal as I am at home watching the game! I wouldn't call Rowe a maverick but he certainly can pull something out of the hat. At times, late on in the game, a fresh Rowe might have been a better bet than a tired Paudie. And that's not a reflection on either of term; it's a surprising decision from T&S.

It's been said by Sparky that we wanted players at VP who wanted to play for the club and that attitude and presence in the changing is important. What's happened today appears to suggest that T&S (and probably Turnbull and Sparky as well) don't see him playing a role at VP in the future. If that is the case then they need to have a good look at the recruitment process which has got things so wrong that a player given an 18 month contract three months ago is now leaving us for a club in a lower division. There will inevitably be a huge turnover in players and maybe management staff over the summer with lots on new recruits arriving. I'd hate to think that we have a repeat of the Rowe saga by not learning from it.

I think if the club hadn't acted like we'd signed Messi which led to confirmation of club legend status in the eyes of some fans when he hit a hard shot in the warm-up before his first game there would be fewer histrionics about him moving on now.

His record indicates he is a thirty-something middling league 2 forward with a great goalscoring record in non-league, he came in and did a short term job and now he's moved on (downwards), it's happened many times in football before and will do again. There's really not anything to justify getting too upset about, it's quite telling that, with only a couple of weeks of the season left, he hasn't even managed to back himself to wait and get a league club once the transfer window opened.

Thats not the truth at all. The lad wants to play football and realised that he didn't fit with what Trueman was trying to do, not hard to realise that with the lack of game time he was getting. A bit distasteful this attacking personally a player through rumours spread.

We weren't trying to get rid of Doyle or Vaughan either but they both chose to leave as well. It just feels like this kind of thing is starting to become a bit of a habit with forwards we bring to the club but yeah, let's ignore that and just blame the players.

If he'd really wanted it, he'd have been in League football much earlier. He's 32 and he's too good for League 2. I think he's a player who should have a couple of hundred Championship games under his belt. The good thing is that despite being 32, he's not about pace, so he shouldn't regress in the way that a McLean did. I think he's got at least 2 very good seasons in him at this level.

Agree totally,up until the transfer window I struggled to form a supporter player bond there were so many lacklustre players in the squad.
Most have now been shipped out and already fans are starting to warm to the quality shown be our new players.
Rowe is a classic example of this,we were so detached from the previous players and their lack of effort in claret and Amber the new lads didn't have to do much.
Their commitment and passion is apparent in abundance alongside strong teamwork ethics which warm our hearts.
They have given us something to finally applauded after the previous shower.
    Long may it continue.

Paul Taylor was banging them in from 25 yards for fun for us, didn't make him player of the season.

Initially, I thought Rowe was a great signing. In the lower leagues, his scoring ratio is tres impressive. The first few games with us, I expect like most people, was thinking - yeaahhhh! A guy who bangs them in for fun, way out or tap ins. But now I'm thinking that something behind the scenes has gone badly, madly wrong. Rowe now seems to be a fringe player, who a la Harrogate, doesn't even get brought on though we're losing. Honestly, what's going on here? What's the story? I get this awful feeling that shit is happening behind the scenes. Training ground/dressing room bust ups? Ego over weaning? Wish we could all get to know the truth of what's actually going on here. At Harrogate on the sidelines, Rowe looked like he'd given up the will to live.

There's a reason why he's heading back to non-league and never got above mid table league 2. He's a great finisher, but you need more than that, even in league 2.

I’m sick to death of the lack of ambition from this club and to be honest from a large majority of the fanbase just happy to exist so long as tickets are cheap.
I want to see a statement of intent this summer by making some marque signings early on instead of waiting for the scraps then panicking in January.

How do you know getting Rowe out of the club , is not a statement of intent. Brought him in , dont like him and so allowed him to move on, so they can look elswhere.
I am also sick and tired of supporters calling other fans out as happy clappers. no one wants to see us lose matches or stand still as a club, but some are more realistic as to what can be achieved and the timescale , given the clubs financial position.
How many times have we been in admistration after spending money we did not have. Think of Bury, maybe slightly different circumstances but what would their fans give to be back in the football league.

His lack of mobility was a killer, especially when as a team we are quite immobile. At Oldham you had players with attacking prowess and mobility around him, such Bahamboula, McAlmont, McAleney, Keiller Dunn. The only real attack threat that moves that we have is Callum Cooke. As i've said before there's a reason he hasn't played at football league level till the age of 30 + and it didn't last long. Not all transfers work and this one didn't, just amazed how many by the time he left that thought it would.
