I really don't understand the obsession from some fans with a striker who made a handful of starts, had a couple of attributes, outweighed by obvious deficiences in his game, workrate and temperament.
I heard the same. It was also posted on this forum. I replied that, if that was the case, he needed shifting....and so it came to pass!!!

That's called laying down a marker and pointing out to the opposition he won't take sh!t, it worked for Big Bobby, and he wasn't as big as Rowe.

Tossa, hence why you could clearly see him not even attempting to warm but instead standing routed to near the corner flag for most the second half last Saturday.

Well if the rumour of fisty cuffs on the training ground are true, we will never get the full story, He had to go , if he was the instigator, you can not have that type of disrupting influence around. Stefan Payne at Grimsby, has probably gauranteed their relegation , i think they might have beaten us with a full complement.

Exactly! It's just tittle tattle with not one jot of evidence to support what is being suggested by some.

This is an extract from the City website on Rowe's departure ....

Bantams boss Mark Trueman said: “I spoke with Danny and assured him he was still very much part of our plans, but Chesterfield approached us and he expressed a desire to leave the club.

“We felt, at this point, it would be wrong to stand in Danny’s way - should he not want to be here - and have already identified a number of exciting attacking players we would like to bring in over the summer.

“We thank him for his contribution as a Bradford City player, and he leaves with our best wishes for the future.”

There's not one sliver of a suggestion that we wanted to move Rowe on for any reason at all. He wanted to leave for his own reasons; his new club offered him a much longer contract and paid us for the privilege.

What press statement do you expect the club to come out with.
He is a right shit that twated another player on the training ground, causing up set in the squad, Warmed up like a concrete statue last Saturday and we want him to f right off. We never get the truth in these situations.

Funny I was told completely the opposite. No fall out, just didn't fancy him. All this unsubstantiated talk does no good to the club.

The truth is he wasn’t prepared to fight for his place and Chesterfield who were in for him in January were offering a 3 year deal. We could have said no and brought about another Vaughan scenario

Thats not the truth at all. The lad wants to play football and realised that he didn't fit with what Trueman was trying to do, not hard to realise that with the lack of game time he was getting. A bit distasteful this attacking personally a player through rumours spread.

Not attacking him at all but it’s obvious he didn’t want to fight for his place so off he went

I find it hard to understand that T&S said to Rowe "I spoke with Danny and assured him he was still very much part of our plans" would that be the last 4 games of this season or he would be very much part of their plans going forward, I cant see how they could reassure him if they prefer to play the system they have employed since they took the manages job which as you and others have quoted can be a very attacking formation, unfortunately it only employs the one striker.

I'm with you the club have to be professional in a situation like this and try and not look foolish, unfortunately in this instance I believe we have looked a little foolish, the club having made the wrong call one way or another, and more so as Ryan has said many times only players with the right attitude who want to be at the club will be signed, not because we have a nice stadium or a large fan base, so we move on.

Heres the scenario. Our coaches have been saying for the last three games that we are gonna go for it. Rowes only start in those three games was as a lone striker against Crawley. We're absolutely desperate for goals yet he plays no part in the next two games. It doesn't matter what excuse Trueman comes out with, Rowe realises, quite correctly, that no matter what he does ultimately Trueman has had a look at him but doesn't fit the club going forward. Thats not refusing to fight for your place, thats weighing up the fact you have a very limited amount of time left in your career to play football, and it ain't to anyones benefit being sat on the bench. All this talk of impact sub and all that crap, the lad needs regular game time at this stage of his career and he was never gonna be first choice before Novak and Cook.
    Good luck to the lad.

Becuase they didn't have the balls to front up and say they didn't rate him. Thats what they should have done, Rowe has taken it out of their hands and done it for them.

Strange how Chesterfield furloughed some players in January and then did a Barrow and signed replacements.

Wake up mate, he dosent just go and we don't even exactly try to stop him leaving even though he's under contract.

Like my earlier post today he looked like he had zero intention of even warming up whilst watching the second half

But surely that is now you making assumptions based purely on what you are reading? I’ve no idea whether this training ground bust up is true or not. It is - at the very least - plausible given his known attitude problems from previous clubs. He does not exactly hide his feelings.

However, “part of our plans” might have meant he was told match day squad but not starting. Could mean anything frankly. But you have decided to infer it means the management duo are gutless. Interesting.

Overall I’d say there’s a good degree of confirmation bias going on here. Those who feel the club is a mess prefer to believe Rowe is in the right and it is all down to the club that this has happened. Others more defensive of the club feel Rowe has in effect done this to himself.

Me? All I care about is that - if we have a player who patently does not want to play for us, I don’t want him here and gone at the first opportunity, rather than letting anything fester. In that regard alone, at least the club have sorted that - it would appear - relatively quickly.

I’m as disappointed as anyone it hasn’t worked out given the early signs when he joined, but equally he’s had Cook outperforming him for some time.
