Lets not forget Vaughan Gething the Welsh Labour minister for Health who was seen sat eating chips with his family they all said sorry so that's OK.
When Cummings was asked if he was sorry for what he did a simple "I appologise" would have stopped the media in their tracks but he actually feed the media frenzy who ain't letting this go, they have to justify their large BBC contracts.

People in government have always been held to higher account. If you make the rules you have to stick to them yourself.
Did any of the other rule flouters that have been mentioned travel long distances knowing that they and their partner were actively infectious? No. Big difference.
You are right though. If he'd issued an abject apology early this might have gone away by now. But his arrogant refusal, and Johnson's pathetic refusal to sack him, has multiplied the outrage many times. A majority of Tory voters now believe he should go.

If the tale is true then wouldn't it have made much more sense to bring his niece down to London if they needed "essential" child care for the nipper rather than lugging the whole infected family unit on a 520+ mile round trip? Exposing them to risk of an RTA or infecting others re fuelling etc

I am surprised that after BoJo's personal experience with the disease that he hasn't taken decisive action for the greater good of the nation.

Now this is reflecting badly on both at a time when we need quite the opposite.

He's not in government but a government adviser paid by the government I believe?.
I'm not sure they had been tested to prove they had or not had Covid-19, they werent feeling well and were taking their child up to Durham to have their son looked after by his nieces who I believe are teenagers who are at low risk as is his young son.
The Barnard Castle was a stupid thing to do and I think he was stupid for doing it, but let's not start saying its OK for these Labour MPs who broke lockdown because they didnt travel as far as Cummings and didnt have any signs of Covid, they did the same as Cummings lets see them fall on their swords and then maybe they have credibility.

My daughter's fiancé's family have a foster child with ADHD and a 62 year old with downs syndrome living with them. Maria, the mother, looked after the child while caring for her husband and his sister (the one with Downs) both of whom had the virus quite badly. They have an extensive family network nearby but they stayed at home and battled through it without help because they followed government rules to self isolate if anyone in the household has symptoms.
And thousands of others have done the same. Nobody told them they were allowed to travel around the country to get help before self isolation, spreading disease as they go.

That is a fair question I'm not sure if that was actually asked by any of the media asking questions or I missed it.

I'd be perfectly happy for them to resign or be sacked.
But they didn't make the rules that they broke, unlike Cummings.
Cummings clearly is 'in government'. He's central to the whole operation which is why Johnson is clinging onto him like a scared child.
The fact that he is an unelected advisor makes it even worse. If Kinnock or Ali's constituents think they've done wrong they can petition for a by-election or vote them out at the next GE. Cummings, by contrast, is unaccountable. Which is why Johnson should have the balls to sack him, but he won't. Johnson has irreparably damaged his credibility over this. He can say it's time to move on as much as he likes but the bad smell will linger on.

Didnt your reply to one of my first posts regarding the three Labour MPs in agreement saying they should not have done it, surely it's not just his constituents who have an opinion on what they did wrong, yet everyman and his dog can criticise Cummings who has no constituents to answer to only his employers.
We'll leave it there mate without doubt a bad day at the office for Cummings he was stupid and even stupider with regards his Barnard Castle story but he got the call on the General Election right with his "Get Brexit Done" catchphrase.

Cummins did not make the rules, The government set the rules after taking advice from the medical experts, Cummins role was to advise the government how best to get the rules out to the public. He did not break his own rules despite what those that sense and enjoy a sacking think

In Mary Wakefield's account of their Coronavirus lockdown there was a couple of mentions of their 4 year old son. After she'd thrown up in the bathroom according to her he said " that's disgusting Mum" and when his Dad was ill she reveals" my son in his doctor's uniform administered Ribena"
Now we know where Cummings got his medical advice on the best way to test his eyesight.

I haven't seen the reports of what they did but if they deliberately broke the rules then they certainly shouldn't have done it and I have no problem with the press pursuing them about it.
No one is doubting that Cummings is a very clever operator, which is why Johnson is so desperate to hold onto him.
40 Tory MPs now calling for him to go. Johnson is lucky that there's no PMQs this week, but I think he's kidding himself if he thinks this is going quietly away. I'm sure Starmer won't let it drop next Wednesday.

If he had moved his nieces down to London they would have had to move into his home. As it was they were just on stand by so as they were not needed they never mixed households

To be fair mate I'm not sure Cummings has used that in his defense but plenty have. Pretty poor to use Autism as an excuse from his supporters and I don't like the weasel.

I'm not saying he's right or wrong , it's the double standards or being accused of being right wing because you dont agree with a certain poster , quite funny tonight ( @Offcomedun@Offcomedun ) Emily Maitlis has been suspended by the BBC for a politically biased rant over the Cummings affair , so the truth about the MSM is slowly starting to unravel . Also Laura Kuenssberg ( Her father Nick Kuenssberg actually bankrupted a country --- Peru ) as left The BBC , love how she talks about honesty and transparency with her father being a fraudster . But of course according to some there is no MSM political bias in the media .

Actually it is not an illness at all, it cannot be ‘cured’ with the use of medication or surgical intervention. To label it as such is totally wrong.
Here is a more detailed explanation, “Autism is a complex, lifelong developmental disability that typically appears during early childhood and can impact a person’s social skills, communication, relationships, and self-regulation. Autism is defined by a certain set of behaviors and is a “spectrum condition” that affects people differently and to varying degrees”.
I have had experience of individuals with differing levels of autism, it can be a disabling condition for some, it depends on the degree. Also parents who are more able to help their child, usually through a level of real understanding, can help their child to develop strategies to ameliorate the condition to some degree.

Good grief, are you really that naive? Cummings is the government. He's the brains behind its whole direction. Imagining that he wasn't closely involved in the decision-making around the rules is fanciful. He's also the catchy slogans man behind 'Let's get Brexit Done'. He'll undoubtedly have had input into 'Stay at Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives', which he chose to ignore.

Yes, and people have been writing about the right wing bias of the press for years. How about the pathetically easy ride they've given the government over its lack of pandemic planning and terrible decision-making? How about the years of free rides over Austerity, treating it as an economic necessity rather than the ideological 'shrink the state' exercise that it was. How about that the BBC news department was choc full of George Osborne's university chums?
There have been complaints about political bias at the BBC from both sides for years. Kuenssberg was vilified by many Labour supporters for crucifying Corbyn and now you're making out like she's a raging lefty. Nick Robinson is a known Tory. Andrew Neil is a Tory journalist, Chair of The Spectator (Tory mag) and was fronting This Week in a clearly partial manner for years.
Everyone brings their agenda to their interpretation of events. Are you seriously claiming that you aren't right wing? Apologies if I've got that wrong, but the evidence of your posts suggests otherwise.
