The simple fact is that the transmission of the virus is a consequence of the transmitter having already been infected with the virus. At that point, the virus cannot distinguish between those transmitters who are symptomatic and those who are asymptomatic. Both groups are carriers of the virus from having been infected and therefore equally capable of transmitting the virus to others.
I'd like to see any serious research which suggests otherwise.

Double and triple layer masks work well, as do proper medical masks, but most people use single layer masks anyway which are obviously less effective.

You will have a massive pushback if you try to implement restrictions again. Yes cases are high and deaths are at a rising level, but for the people you want to lockdown they simply won't accept it now as they can see they can go about their own lives with very little risk.

People have been given the opportunity to access the risks for themselves and have made their decisions.
If you're unsure about whether to attend just know that you can't hide away from any virus forever. It might feel like an enormous risk based on the information we've been given for the last 18 months but these are exactly the sort of decisions that are going to have to be made. I hope you feel comfortable to attend.CT Bantam, Gardscoigne and Idlebantam like this. -
I suppose it all depends on how you define many when talking about the number of deaths.
in the past 5 weeks there have been less than 30 deaths in total in all of Bradford hospitals where COVID was listed on death certificate. And in past 45 days just 35 deaths where person tested positive in previous 28 days.
So how many is ‘many double jabbed young people’?Gardscoigne, WilsdenBantam and vladimir like this. -
It goes without saying that many people there yesterday will have been Asymptomatic and without question many people will have caught Covid end of
But I guess that’s what we now have to live with.

There’s a joke over here, saying Estonians are glad the social distancing measures have been removed. They can now keep a 4 metre distance instead of a 2 metre one.

The smallest holes in a triple layered fabric mask are still over 100 times bigger than the largest measured covid virus particle, but yeah carry on believing they give protection.
As I've said plenty of times before, they give the illusion of safety. People believe they are safer when wearing one but in reality they are nothing more than a comfort blanket. It's more about perception than actual safety. -
Surely the point now is what will those who catch the virus suffer? The number of hospital admissions is at a pretty low figure and would appear to mainly be of those who have not been vaccinated for whatever reason. There does not appear to be any figures published (as far as I am aware) of how long these people remain in hospital now compared to, say, 12 months ago.

Can’t believe we’re still talking about Covid, after July 19th I stopped worrying about it and will actively avoid any establishment that enforces mask wearing.

During the game the same areas of the ground are empty, a view of ticket sales for the next game show huge areas of unsold seats, such as in the bottom corners of the Kop, the gods in the main stand, Block A in midland road.
This is block F in the Kop for example
Block A Midland Road
And block M of the main stand
If you wait around 15min after the final whistle you will find it easy to navigate out of the ground without being in contact with people.
This way you can massively manage your own risk.
I have turned up early for both games, and stayed after the final whistle so I was not caught in say the bottleneck at the stairs behind the NW Corner. I'm quite happy to sit where I sit, but if I wasn't I would simply move to one of the blocks mentioned above to be on my own.
I have seen people talking about not feeling safe in Supermarkets in the past and responded in the same way, don't head to a supermarket at 12 noon on a Saturday and be upset at people doing their own thing, Simply get your shopping at 7pm on a Tuesday when the Supermarket is basically empty.
I'm not sure if this gives you the confidence to attend the game but due to our large stadium we are in a position keep to ourselves if we want.Bronco, Stafford Bantam and Offcomedun like this. -

I have taken the decision not to attend away matches which I normally do for the time being. I don't fancy coach travel with people I don't always know. Also viewing the Oldham away fans, it looked like a covid incubation camp. I imagine it will be similar for City away. I might put my toe in the water once infection rates improve and there is an away fame with a seating area and standing. Seating likely to be safer in that scenario.trevor, Dennis and Stafford Bantam like this. -
Agree. I went double masked as I don’t want to miss my sons imminent wedding, but I couldn’t believe how few masks worn. I kept mine on all the time i was in the ground.
People acting as if nothing has happened - leaning across into peoples (strangers) faces and talking to them. You wouldn’t go so close to people in a shop - so why get up so close in a footy ground?
I hope my common sense saved me, and I’m now wondering about Tuesday too.Stafford Bantam and EdwinB like this. -

Had this thread not been spoken of, I would not have considered the Covid aspect at today's game.
As my memory serves, I don't recall anybody whatsoever wearing a mask in the upper Kop. That naturally includes myself.
I summise that unless a change in direction is enforced by the government, than those whom wish to enact wear masks etc, are going to have to adopt to such situations. I believe, I see mask wearing declining across all areas of society and take my work place as an example, whereby the vast majority, do not wear masks, of all age groups.
A difficult situation for those with concerns.CT Bantam and bantamlad92 like this. -
