Not a chance mate, wait and see, this government has been terrible over recent years and now fiscal measures need to be taken, and maybe personal responsibilities should be the order of the day, my family have suffered a much worse challenge to the so called cost of living crisis in the past than would apply today ..
    All about opinions though yes/no?

They have had 12 years to ‘put it right’, but it goes from one mess to another down a long and steady road of decline.

An aircraft has to take off before it has no runway left. The current lot have had 12 years to take off, but have increasingly flopped. Time for them to go.

Cameron came over as honourable and relatively decent. Liked his position on Brexit and the Scottish issue.

May was dour, but straight. She had been given a poor hand after Brexit and wasn’t decisive enough.

Johnson was/is an utter sycophant and probably psychopathic too. Dreadful politician who has destroyed what little credibility the Government had.

Ms Truss(t) is just utterly dreadful on all accounts. Has the charisma of Golem, and as much Political nouse as Baldric. She is continuing her career of failure in everything she does.

Sadly they run this country (into the ground).

    Thank you mate.

I respect most on here, you included, there is the odd one on here who respond childishly with personal abuse if you don't agree with them. You however tend to respond more eloquently than I could

I know we will never see eye to eye on politics, but which bit of what I've posted there do you think is incorrect?

That's my line of thinking. Just had the first installment of Government money paid to my Energy account and I'm a little over £400 in credit. Bulb want me to lower my payments but im leaving them as they are so I won't have to think too much about putting the heating on when it turns cold.

I could be wrong but I believe the domestic cap is for 2 years. It's 6 months for businesses

Just to be clear, this was before the pandemic - before they gifted £33billion to their chums on useless PPE and ineffective track & trace etc and borrowed billions to fund tax cuts for the rich. The situation is, of course, inordinately worse now facebook_1574669676377.jpg

At the end of October I'm starting the second year of a two year fixed term agreement with OVO Energy at £120/month more than happy, I'm hoping by the time its finished we will have some stability in the energy markets, as my payments are due on the 28th of the month I think the government payments will be taken out at the end of this month.

The Government payments aren't being paid back are they? I thought they'd cancelled that part of it.

But we could now get Starmer. The current occupant of Number 10 has zilch credibility. If she is so confident in her beliefs, then go to the Country Now. Lets have a General Election now. Surely the power of her position will carry all before her!

I never gave Corbyn a chance. I formed a view that he was wrong. I have seen the Ms Truss(T) at the opposite end of the spectrum and believe her brief tenure and her actions previously, mean she is not fit for the role.

I will be quite happy to see both Truss and Corbyn consigned to the waste bin of history.

If she is so certain, then go to the country and seek a fresh mandate for her policies.

    General election now!

She hasn't had here 10 games in before we judge her, there's no way she will go to the country the Tory Party has so much to do to to give themselves a chance of another term, but Harold Wilson said" a week is a long time in politics" and they have until January 2025 before they go back to the country for the next General Election.

I think we have our wires crossed mate. I thought you were referring to paying it back as it was originally going to be a loan.
