Not with that back he ain’t.

 

If Scannell doesn't want to be here what's the point in blocking a move he hasn't really done anything of note anyway. You can have the best reputation in the world but if your not motivated it will not make any difference the performances won't be great.

Just keeping my fingers crossed GB has some one lined up to replace him if it happens.

Scannell for me was a major disappointment. Hardly looked interested so no love lost now he's gone

We were warned he was a sick note before we signed him and sure enough he was.

Waste of a (big) wage in my opinion.

Now hopefully remedied but we need to spend the savings wisely in positions needed

The one thing we do have is a Sean Scannell lookalike holding a Blackpool shirt on the Bloomfield road pitch. It could well be a swap deal, but part of that deal will be us saving a massive chunk of our outgoings on a player that gave us little in return. Not sure who or what Pritchard is but he'll be a damn sight cheaper than Scannell and lets face it he can't be much worse in terms of goals and assists.

 

Not sure who's on Blackpool's medical staff but one of them should be booked on the 'gradually easing a player back in' course as soon as possible.

 

He was a massive let down for us

 

We needed him off the wage bill, and if those stats are correct - and his goal involvement has been so minimal - then happy to see him move.

Only Riley and Akpan left of the big earners?

Riley is crocked so unlikely to move anywhere before the summer. We need Hopeless gone asap too.

 

Scannel is one of those players that always looks like he could do something special or change a game, but never actually does.

I take that point. We've had zero creativity all season. So in that sense, Pritchard can't be worse than what we've had. And our 'marquee' signings are generally crap anyway, so lets see. But I'd rather be signing players who generate a more positive reaction than 'meh, but can't be worse than what we have'.

 

Lets be honest, Scannell has been a huge disappointment. Injuries haven't helped but when he's played he hasn't looked the player that his reputation says he should be. His stats are poor and he didn't look interested, very rarely got a ball in or took a defender on. No great loss and he will have been a high earner. Lets see what we bring in.

Yep we'll definitely need to see him in his preferred position. Stats aside, I don't see him as being a huge goal threat, but the fact that hes scored goals in the league above shows hes capable of it. If as you say he can be the supply line to the strikers, and do this regularly, then I cant see any negatives with his signing. He arrives with no ego, no past reputation to rely on, everything to prove and at 26 his best years are in front of him.

 

City fans dont seem too sad to see Scannell go the other way either

 

Scannell has been a real disappointment for me. Possibly the injury situation has really put him back but can't recall him beating a man and whipping a decent cross in so far this season.

If the rumour is true then it should free up money for us to get at least 2 more signings.

 

Sounds a lot like 'Eoin Doyle pressure', where he runs towards the defender but has no intention of actually putting a challenge.

Worked, too, because some reckoned he used to work hard hahahaha

Notice how all the wimps are leaving, I hope Eoin and Scannell do well, but they're not City players.

Very little to his game suggested he was anything but average. Seems to have got through his career with pace and power but they are the first things to deteriorate as you get older. Yet another Rahic/Abbott masterstroke.
