At our level size means very little anyway. A player will follow the money 95% of the time.

We are a huge City. Lots of potential. But club size we are down near the bottom IMO.

A lot of clubs are similar size to the point of you can make a case for either, and both are insignificant compared to the big boys. Both us and Blackpool fall into that category, it’s like two bald men fighting over a comb not worth the argument. All I will say is we have far more potential for natural growth, however that rarely happens in modern day football, a sugar daddy is needed to take a club to the next level.

When I started watching City many Lancashire clubs were 1st division for many years with the odd relegation, Bolton, Burnley, Blackpool, Blackburn all with very good attendances for small Towns.
Although traveling was nothing like as easy as it is now a days there were many who nipped over the border to support those teams Burnley mainly.

How is a “big club” defined. Is it gates, league position tradition and history. Blackpool are a good club with a great tradition recovering from a bleak period in their history.
To outsiders we don’t have quite the same background but because of our pricing policy we attract far more fans.
Both are good clubs to play for in my opinion

For me, City are a big Club.
Being born and bred just 250 yards away - There was never going to be anyone else :)
For over 50 years I've watched my Club grow steadily, and plenty of memories too.

FWIW ........ My footballing interest is 10% spread evenly across the football globe, from grass roots to international level - The other 90% is very much just BCAFC.

Trying to work out ‘objective criteria’, then I guess that the following are factors which give a measure to a clubs size:
    • attendance
    • trophies
    • transfers/squad
    • stadium
    • league standing
You can apply a historic and current perspective.

What weight you apply to the criteria, then becomes ‘subjective’ and given the same information, people can come to wildly different conclusions.

The big club argument - arguing about intangibles mixed with irrelevant 'facts' and figures...

It's too warm for that nonsense.

Surely a ‘big club’ is determined by the operation of the club? The Operating Income and market value of the club should be the only real indicators? Forget false attendance figures for both these clubs, i.e. ours is swollen due to cheap ticket prices, whereas Pool’s is down due to poor ownership. We saw what happened to our attendances under Rahic and they had far worse for longer.
