    If Scunny really wanted him then they would have kept him. If Scunny honestly can't afford to keep a player that couldn't get into their team then they are in extremely deep trouble. I don't believe it.

    As for Doyle, sorry mate thats nonsense. He was leading goalscorer for us in div 1 and then scored over 20 goals for Swindon which basically sent them up. So for 2 back to back seasons he's proven he can hit the ball at the back of the net.

    You're correct money doesn't always buy success but for me you need players of proven quality and that's players that can already get into teams. If not then he needs competition. Can't be having Sutton just walk into a team...He isn't good enough for that.

    And that's my point. @Idlebantam@Idlebantam said he thought he was signed for 1st choice RB now the player is saying McCall will play him in midfield..No mate! McCall will play you were he sees fit and he shouldn't just walk into our team because he isn't good enough and needs to prove himself here.

    Of course just like every player he needs to prove himself Doyle will have to prove himself at Bolton because despite his successes at some clubs he has been a failure at others and if he fail it will be a very expensive failure

    specially when the club’s recruitment over the last 24 months, purely and simply, has not been good enough.

    Previous Scunthorpe manager Stuart McCall, now back in charge of his home-town team Bradford for the third time, clearly rated Sutton – even if certain decision-makers at Glanford Park mysteriously didn’t. McCall openly said he was “really surprised” when Levi was available for nothing, and many Iron fans quite understandably share that.

    It means that the reporter who watches Scunthorpe every week thinks he was very unfortunate due to financial reason not to get another contract and many fans feel the same.
    So let’s see him and judge for ourselves when he wears our shirt not over hype or dismiss him before he kicks a ball for us

    But what's he basing his opinion on? Is he a good passer of the ball? A good tackler? Or does he just run around a lot?

    You're not going to be reading an article where a manager, journalist and fans all express surprise that Danny Devine has been released and is available for nothing, that's for sure.

    So it would strongly appear to be an improvement on a like for like basis.
