That's exactly what I was told yesterday tea time and led to believe club have already spoken to a couple of goalkeepers with one hopefully being done by end of week.

Yeah I agree. He’s a decent L1 striker but he isn’t a top half championship player and he isn’t worth £1 million. He doesn’t have the pace/ability to play up top on his own which is a major drawback as most good teams only play one striker.

It sums it up for me when Kilgallon won player of the season and not a single poster questioned why Charlie Wyke didn't win It. You'd think they would wouldn't you? Worth 1M +, he'll get you 20 goals etc. Just goes to show how highly our fans rate him.

 

That's fair enough but I still believe with the right service he'd score 20 at this level. He's not a player who'll make his own goals so he's only as good as the players around him

 

I agree with the correct service and partner along side him I'd be looking for 20 goals, but if he wont sign an extension we as a club have very little option but to take offers, I'm sure other clubs will be notified if not be the club by his agent.

 

Or City become a top six PL side
Until then ALL clubs are stepping stones

 

Go on then Butterfield. Explain the economic advantage of keeping a player who wants to leave and won't sign a new contract? That'll be interesting .....

Yeah but it’s all changed now. Collins would be happy to flog Wyke as long as he got some new cones and bibs.

 

The way he huffs and puffs he looks like a 20 fags a day striker, never mind 20 goals a season.

 

Scenario 1. He signs a new contract and gives his all for City.
2. He doesn't want to stay so we sell for highest price
and have a replacement in for start of season.
3. Disaster,we don't sell and we don't get promotion
he leaves for nowt and we lose our investment and
have to spend on a decent replacement.

 

Swap him for Rondon, job done

 

It's only a matter of time......believe.

If Charlie leaves then at least it lowers the risk of being sat next to him next season....................hold on.

 

Simple.

Achieving promotion requires having the best players possible; not selling them.

We get promoted, Charlie Wyke walks away, we've just made a lot more money than if we sell him for £500k-1m.

And that is a financial fact, and it's not in any way a close call.
