Nobody wishes him away. In an ideal world, he would sign an extension. Ridiculous would be to watch him run his contract down and leave for FA.

No way if he was leading scorer in League One that would be bad, because we wouldn't have sold him.

We have to make sure he doesn't score ANY goals, because a transfer fee makes more sense than winning promotion...

 

I'm not sure how people don't quite grasp this concept. Players who think they can better there current position do not sign contract extensions. Why would they? It lessens their hand when negotiating with other clubs. In that position Bradford have to look at cashing in, they cannot afford to lose out on their most valuable asset. Thats what clubs like Peterborough do. The kicker in this is what part of the transfer fee is used to strengthen the team. It should leave you potentially stronger if the fee is fully invested in the first team.
