Sorry but no respect for someone who won’t watch us now because he doesn’t like the owners. If this lot are clowns he should have seen bob Martin.

29 years takes us back to 1987/ 88 - the good times. He needs to man up and realise we are better off now than at most points before then.

I think to fully appreciate those moments like Wolves away and Liverpool at home and Chelsea away, you have to go through some real shite like losing 0-3 at home to Fleetwood and Accrington and 0-4 to Wimbledon.

Nah we can't dictate to fans when they can support the club or not, if we are doing well and they feel like they want to attend games its not for me or you to comment on, also if they do return they will be paying full whack, I dont see a problem.

If the Doyle rumours are true then I will applaud the board on this one as I rate him better than CW, and I think Doyle would be a better fit with how it looks we're going to set up this season.

I know some people on here seem to be moving on from Charlie very quickly and without much concern but I for one will be very sorry to see him go, I think there is the potential for a really good centre forward and I think we have only seen flashes of the player he might go onto become. With this in mind I really hope the club has something built into any future deal that would give us a % and even more importantly, at least in the short term, have a decent replacement(s) lined up because for all the promising transfers we have done this summer there are still very few goals within this team - and I honestly dont think our existing strikers can be seen as anything more than lower League 1/top half League 2. Interesting 48 hours coming up!

Charlie is a hardworking selfless player who has done a decent job. I still think he would be better suited to playing alongside a big targetman rather than him playing there.

If only. Gloating, more like, and poking yet another finger into the eye of BCAFC, a Club who served HIM well !
I'm pleased he's gone, and hopefully City will not endure another 'early 2018' situation again. :)

It may seem like an obvious point (to anyone else) but every manager ever started out with no experience, and all were given a chance at some point. Eddie Howe seems to be making a good fist of it.

I'm not saying he is a good coach, I'm saying there's no evidence to say he isn't.

If we sell him, I'll understand.

I'm not going to get excited about it and start enjoying the game of where he's going and for how much, because it's still a negative experience.

We should be trying to get him to sign to increase his value, which is already lower than it was in January when we said he was not for sale.

It's terrible business to sell him now.

If we get half a mill, we've covered his and McCartan's transfer fee (minus wages).

    Big deal.

That's a failure, and a pretty epic one at that.

What model would stop our current players moving on to big and better things. I hate to break it to you but there is no such model. Players always want to test their skills at the highest level possible. With that rise in standard comes a rise in salary. Its not rocket science. Personally i would like to see Charlie stay, but business dictates.

If Charlie leaves then at least it lowers the risk of being sat next to him next season....................hold on.

I think that's the big point here. During edin and the transfer committee's time, we've signed 8 or 9 strikers. Only Wyke has been good enough. Therefore I'm not confident we'd sign a replacement who's anywhere near good enough, regardless of finances.

Quite right Jon, in addition if we sign 2 players around the £500k mark then great, the owners are giving the model a chance of succeeding. However if they try replace with a £250k striker and pocket the rest we will go downhill rapidly. We will soon know, if, and when Wyke goes!

    Can still remember
Can still remember an Avenue game around 1958. They played Doncaster on a mud heap. Polly was on the floor around the 6 yard line(he spent a lot of the game there) when the ball came across at calf height. Without getting up, he dived through the centre half's legs and nodded home.I kid you not.

It would not have been allowed today. He hit the defenders legs first who then fell on top of him. Normally supporters cheer a goal. With that one, they fell about laughing. In the same game, Tony Leighton scored a diving header for Donny at the same end. In doing so, his 2 front dentures fell out and the game had to be stopped while he grovelled in the mud looking for them.
