there will be some more sell on fee from Sheffield Utd staying up. I would hazard a guess that that will get paid in the next seasons figures so should help us out a bit

Not according to my contact at the Blades. They are due to pay Swansea the additional fee for them not being relegated immediately after the season ends in their current financial year and we are due our share at the same time, ie this financial year and therefore in this seasn's SCMP

I can't lass, and what makes that performance harder was seeing the lad who gave his all for our/his club in the pub before the game.
I get your reply but have to say "again" Stuart McCall was never a quitter and I would have hoped he'd have put his strongest starting 11 out from the start, now we can debate if he believe he needed to see more the likes of Devitt, Cooke, DMH, but to me it was plain for anyone at the game or watching on TV Novak was isolated as our lone striker, and the only time we looked anything like causing Salford any sort of problems was when Donaldson was introduced around the 70th minute, we all like to think our opinions are correct but everyone I spoke to after the game saw it the same way Novak struggled with no support, but more to the point playing Connolly (who had to start after last weeks performance) and DMH on the other wing Novak needed a partner and that partner had to be Donaldson, Pond hardly lost a header up to Donaldson introduction.

Richard Sutcliffe now writing for The Athletic (ex T&A, Yorskire Post and a close confidant of Rhodes) Reported Swansea get £2.87m if Sheff Utd stop up. Our share of that is £431250 as mentioned in WOAP article.

Nobody has mentioned how much is due from Swansea as our share of Blades' additional payment. What's your point in the context of what I posted?

    Apologies Dennis.
I just thought it was worth pointing out what we are due. Will edit it accordingly

STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!!!!!

Can we stop laying down and rolling over for McCall?

We were 3 points off a playoff spot at the start of yesterday and you are trying to tell me he is playing that way to have a look at players? REALLY? This season is still alive. Yes we may not be good enough to go up but the revenue and support generated by being in the playoff spots cannot be scoffed at. Absolutely no excuse, we were 7th when he took over, he needs to step up and sort this out. Nothing more nothing less than we would expect from any other manager handed a team in 7th place that had been in the playoff positions for the first half of the season.

And the line 'He might have been told to do that...' he might have been told to do that,,, let me say that again...he might have been told to do that. JEEZ...are we already traipsing out the interference argument to cover up for poor decision making, changing a winning team, and pointless substitutions.

We should not accept mediocrity because of the managers name.

COME ON...GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BREAK!

McCall isn’t a quitter, and as far as selection goes I hold no firm opinions either way, but agree we are poor in most shapes tbh, but particularly in loan striker, those that can play that role effectively are few and far between, and certainly not as this level. Funnily enough Stuart is taking his full share of responsibility for selecting the team. I keep saying but it is worth repeating, if anybody thought that SMc could wave a magic wand over this lot were living on cloud9. I think Bowyer had 40% of the budget this season, and he decided to blow most of it on Vaughan and Donaldson, the rest have been average at best. He then in his wisdom decided not to play to their strengths and proceeded to rely on defence to eeek out promotion. We then loan out Vaughan and sell Doyle because both of those players have had enough, he buys in Guthrie and Novak, and Middleton and loan Motley -Henry. The club then proceed to sack him before even a training session.

The only reasonable explanation I can come up with that makes sense is one of finance. We claw back wages and fees, plus it would give the club a boost in ST sales if McCall comes back. He is the only manager who has got us anywhere near the Championship, despite the owners interference. The judgement of McCalls management for me, will be next season, if he blows that, then that is it. However, the club has to take full responsibility for the mess we now find ourselves in. No more hiding behind silence, we need to know where we are going and who with and what kind of financial support above and beyond ST and merchandise sales.

I think you do need a break; in a quiet darkened room, it will help bring your blood pressure down Norman, now off you go.

Yes he did. Recognised he did not have the skills this early in his managerial career.

I'm assuming here you've seen most/all the games this season, do you honestly think this squad as it currently stands is good enough to get in the playoffs? Being in the playoff positions doesn't guarantee the team is good enough over a full season.

...and apparently didn't have the skills at Motherwell as he quit stating, I believe, that he didn't have what it took to get the out of the position they found themselves in. He then moved onto Rangers as interim manager but didn't get offered the full time post. Read into that what you will. He was then fired from his next two roles in English lower leagues.

He also doesn’t realise that if by some miracle we get into the playoffs we have to play away!!

So you are saying that Stuart McCall arguably one of the best players we have ever had, and never took a back step in the whole of his career is now a quitter? Why do you think he is here then, and no he doesn’t need the money or the stress tbh?

I am a season ticket holder and have attended a number of away fixtures as well.

If you read my post you would see that I wa responding to a statement that McCall was having a look at all the players. A statement that suggests he has given up on this season and is now planning for next. I stated that given we were only 3 points off a playoff we should still be pushing for that. I stated that I didn't believe we were good enough to go up but being in a play off position generates revenue and excitement around the club and so we should not be throwing in the towel. Revenue is something we need so we cant be giving up on a season where we can still reach the playoffs.

Go back and read it again.
